Konami seems to be helping XBLA arcade alot, with Castlevania: Symphony of the night (also on PSN), and some lesser games, but the 360 doesn't seem to be getting alot of 3rd party arcade games, from the 5th generation. I'm not saying they aren't getting good games, geometry wars, assault heroes, PacMan, small arms, worms and more are awesome, but it is lacking 5th gen games.

Is the 150mb limit turning developers away? Or is it just because of a "loyalty" because the games were on the PS1/N64 (to be on PS3/Wii).

It has alot of "retro" games (before 5th gen) like digdug, DOOM, marathon, robotron, contra, and more, but it's getting the shaft for 5th gen games. PSN has gotten 2 spyro games and 2 crash games, which are currently 3rd party franchises, why put it on the PS3 with a lower userbase? Is Konami saving games like MGS1, Gradius, and silent hill 1 for PSN (they could have released them by now)?

I'm not saying that XBLA isn't great, but it's lacking great games from one of the greatest generations of gaming.

Did you own a PS1? Or for the Wii's case, an N64?

Can't wait for Perfect Dark, Banjoo and GoldenEye..all 3 of which are developed by Rare, Microsoft. Hopefully they pwn the rights to these games.

Nintendo published them Goldeneye/Banjo, so they can't get those.

Perfect Dark was published by Rare, but this was when they were under contract with Nintendo....

Sorry, don't think we'll see any of those.

Because MS themselves has no content from that era, anything on CD would have to be completely remade to fit the size limit, and Nintendo owns the rights to most worthwhile N64 games.

The thing I like XBLA for the most is puzzle games. They need more. They should try and get all the good ones from the DS and PSP library that they can and encourage development of ripoffs if they can't.

Rare developed the games, Nintendo published them.

Wouldn't the games still technically be property of Nintendo?

XBL has ALOT more content, but they are lacking great 5th gen games. PSN gas crash 1/2, spyro 1/2, syphon filter, and some more.

If PD came out on xbl, I will re-buy a 360. Just for that game. Just to be able to play it split screen with 8 bots with no slowdown, I would absolutely spend 400 dollars for that. At that point, there would be no reason for me to play any other game. PD would be the the perfect game. *sigs* that wont happen though.

There was no Xbox console during the time Sony and Nintendo had N64, ps1 (w/e gen that was). 360 would be lucky to get some of the Rare games from the N64 but it just won't happen.

Doesn't matter. If the dev is 3rd party, they can put a game wherever they want. It's easier to put on XBL, and XBL has a larger userbase. So, is it because of the 150mb limit, or because of a loyalty to put them on PSN (due it them being on the PS1), and few companies (konami) would break that chain?

An agreement between Microsoft and Nintendo in this particular case somehow doesn't feel too far-fetched.

Something tells me I'll be just fine. :| (FYI, I didn't seriously game on a console until I got my 360 though I did have an SNES at one point, it was all computer for me. Though, I do have a lot of experience with the PS1 and the N64. I had friends, you know)

Because a lot of the "greats" are owned by Nintendo and Sony... even many of the third party games are already licensed for release on Sony and Nintendo platforms. Microsoft can't get licensing from its competitors now can it?

Because Nintendo wants Microsoft to have good arcade games?

Cool, 1 man dev team? Just like everyday shooter (1 man).

And Quake War arena isn't 5th gen I believe.

Banjo Kazooie, Blast Corps, Killer Instinct 1 and 2

but its hard for MS to get these games because they were on the two competitors main systems..

maybe arcade games from that time, but thats when Arcades were dying

I'm sure they could purchase the rights to these games if they wanted. It's not like they can make a new game from them, all they can really do Is release it on VC.
