Theirs launch deals on the console versions. Only a fool would pay $60 with no other coupons/discounts.

Yeah you'll have to buy a whole lot of games at that price to make up the hundreds that your out on the extra HW. You can buy at least 5 PS3s for the cost of a gaming PC that is good enough to run the latest games smoothly like BF3.

Lol. No you don't. You can build a decent PC that will run BF3 smoothly for around 750. And that certainly isn't the cost of 5 PS3's.

When you consider the kind of money people drop on HDTVs and now "3D" TVs in addition to consoles, I'd say PC Hardware still comes out ahead price wise.

I saved 58 euro over the console version and 38 euro over the PC one

Why does a tv count for a console's price?:?

Anyways GMG has deals like this on every single pre order game.

It says "Receive 20% off if you already own Batman Arkham Asylum or Lego Batman on Steam" So I guess you only need either or, but I don't know if you had to buy it off Steam or not. During the Steam summer sale, I bought the first two DLC for New Vegas for $2.50 each I think and it said you only got the deal if you already had New Vegas from Steam otherwise it was $5. I bought New Vegas from D2D so maybe you can get the deal. But also keep in mind that New Vegas was a Steamworks game.

That is indeed the case. However, with the current state of the industry (trying to kill the used market), it may very well change. On the other hand, if console games move to non-physical mediums in the future, the PC and consoles should be on nearly equal ground, more or less, in terms of price.

You can easily buy a good PC that will chew through most games, including BF3 and Crysis (though not maxed) for about $600. Hell, I only paid around $900 for mine and it maxes Crysis at at 30 - 40 fps at 1080p.

Ahh yes, Amazon is the go-to place for cheap games. But how often do such steals come around? (I never really look)

Either way, PC games are inherently cheap (with even better deal if you look), while with consoles you have to search, andsometimesgo out of your way, to get the best price. Reality is, neither consoles or PC's are that expensive. The difference always gets overblown, especially in system wars.

Well that's the way with PC gaming, but don't forget that decent gaming rigs(that are practical) then to cost upwards of $800/£1000. So its in cost wise console gaming still wins overall(unless you decide to buy 100's of games).

Once we priced what he paid for all the parts in his machine, it came to nearly $1500 because he has dual graphics cards. So knock one off and your still talking $1200+ which is approximately 5 PS3s. I'm talking from the ground up. No assuming that you have anything except leave out monitor since the TV isnt in the PS3 price. PS3's only cost $250 now. So even if its not five, your machine isnt far off from being worth 4 of them.

Actually it cost me only a 2 euros rent to play it on my xbox 360

I saved 58 euro over the console version and 38 euro over the PC one

BTW do you get a DVD and pack, printed manual when buying from Steam ?

God no, why would I want that?! To clutter my desk?!

Also you can rent an unlimited amount of pc games for fairly cheap (around $10 ) including batman via services like metaboli so there goes another console advantage
