PC gaming is what you want it to be, total freedom. You can buy a netbook and play 10 year old games or you can be silly enough to spend that much money on a PC.

What is the point of this thread?

If you want a computer that can run Crysis Mods at 1920x1200 resolution at 60fps or higher, it will cost you 6k. Mmk..

I don't understand the point of this topic. Where is it going again?

Since when did Very High = Medium? :| And a PC can be used for more then just gaming, plus you get the superior library and Starcraft 2. ;)

If my intention was to get it to cost the highest possible, I could make it cost over $15,000.

I just used the parts that are absolutely necessary for a hard core gamer who will ABSOLUTELY NOT ACCEPT ANY COMPROMISES!!!

wow, I've never bought a gaming PC just those pre-assembled mass-produced HPs that are cheap, then upgrade, but dang, never personally seen a motherboard that could take 3 PCI express video cards or 6 slots for 2GB of RAM, that thing must be a monster, I mean I'm fine with my consoles but I'd like to play with one of those just to max out game settings and see what how awesome it looks, probably need a large monitor just to make the most of all that power

Ummm... kay.

Is this meant to be flamebait for PC gamers or are you just showing off the most expensive build you can put together on a gaming PC site in your spare time? I mean, we used to like to do that in high school, but nowadays...

Hmmm kay let's do this for the PS3 for the full experience.

Console - $300

1TB HD- $100

3 extra controllers - $150

Headset - $40

3D TV - $5000

4 3D Glasses - $400

makes a grand total of $5950 to have absolutely no compromises for the serious PS3 gamer compared to my less then $900 PC which wipes the floor with that PS3. So you were saying?

2 would actually be enough if it weren't for the fact that you need a 3rd one to run games that utilize physics. And when you're not running a physics intensive games, 3-way SLI offers a nice performance boost over 2-way.

Remember folks, this is not 720p gaming or even 1080p gaming we're discussing here folks. I'm talking 2560 X 1600 resolution. That is 4X the pixels of 1080p!!! And of course over 60fps is an absolute MUST!!!

Those aren't that expensive TBH around 220 US.. x3 480 GTX is 1600, I7 extreme is 800, 440 for 12gigs of tri channel, 150 for a case (and I'm being really outrageous here), 2TB (1x2 = 150us), 3 24inch asus screens (180x3) 540.... yea you see where I am going with this.. him getting that to 6.6k is a miracle... I prob missed stuff but nothing major.. OS is like 100 etc etc..

Thats alot of money. I could think of better, more necessary things to spend most of it on after i'd built a high end pc that will run any game out there beautifully without a bead of sweat.

If I want to run games on medium, i'll play them on the Xbox 360.

there was a typo in my post, but it should still be very clear that it says very high... as in not medium :|

You can't even run DX11 games at all.

Well then why don't you add a 120Hz monitor?:P Come on, we can get this baby to cost over 7000!

ferret-gamer

If my intention was to get it to cost the highest possible, I could make it cost over $15,000.

I just used the parts that are absolutely necessary for a hard core gamer who will ABSOLUTELY NOT ACCEPT ANY COMPROMISES!!!

No Hardware enthusiast i know would ever buy that much less spend $6500 on a computer.

I'd buy one gaming PC, then use the rest of that cash to build a folding farm.

The quotes marked in red are absolutley rediculous and a waste of money. 12GB games don't exist, unless your doing some extreme multitasking(downloading porn, playing Crysis, building heavy graphic extensive programs).

What a rip off.

I got

AMD Phenom II X4 940 BE

Radeon HD4870 X2 1GB Crossfired

Corsair 850w TX Series

Patriot Extreme Gamer 4GB

Windows Vista Ultimate for a LOT less and deliveres almost the same performance as that. LOL!

You can't even run DX11 games at all.

Show me one game that is DX11 only.

And also to your previous post: 1920*1080 = ~2mil pixels, 2650*1600 = ~4mil pixels. And playing games even at 1440*900 (let alone 1080p) is still better than consoles that are mostly at 1280*720.

That being said I've had enough trolls for the evening and I think I'll go play some PS3...

Most of the things in that PC are completely useless.

For example, why would anyone need 16gb ram? 4 is completely enough.

Or 3 GPUs?

Phail topic if u ask me

You pick the crappiest case and then don't even put case fans in it? LOL!

Anyway, you may be happy with that system but a PC elitist would have to comprimise too much to accept that system.

It is not even an i7 system. The old Core 2 Quad system are faster. And you can't run DX11 games maxed out at even 1080p.

It's a nice system but just too many compromises.
