And they are:

Sonic The Hedgehog 3

Shinobi (arcade)

Comix Zone

Phantasy Star 2

Altered Beast

Gunstar Heroes (also on PSN)

Sonic & Knuckles

"The games will support online leaderboards as well as network play (except Phantasy Star 2, Shinobi, Comix Zone.) and will be out individually "this summer," with the exception of Sonic and Knuckles which is marked for a "late summer" release."

http://www.thatvideogameblog.com/2009/05/11/psn-gets-1-xbla-7-sega-classics/

Maybe this summers XBLA will manage to better last years awesomeness (Geometry Wars 2 + Castle Crashers + Braid). Expecially looking forward to Sonic 3! :D

Then again I think quite a few of these are already available in the Sonic Ultimate Collection.

Almost all of those are on the ultimate genesis collection for xbox 360 all ready...seems kind of redundant.

In fact, I just loaded up my ultimate genesis collection, all but Gunstar Heroes are on the collection.

They should've stopped at Sonic 2, that's the last good one. But at least they got it right with Phantasy Star II, and Gunstar Heroes.

Also, in randomly related news, I just found out there's a Star Trek game being released on XBLA (+ PC/Ps3?) this week. http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/s/startrekdacxboxlivearcade/

All those games (except for Gunstar Heroes) are already on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection.

And that game is like 35$ with more games.

I want Sonic CD! But yeah, makes sense, let those who want to shell out on the Collection, and those who only want a few games buy them at individually at a cheaper price. Too bad they are probably going to be 800 MSP!

Why not just get the Sega Mega Drive collection for 360 or PS3?

It's cheaper and have 30 more games.

I recommend it to everyone, with 2 notable exceptions (shadowrun, zero tolerance), it's certainly the be all and end all of sega collections. I still want them to release a dreamcast collection (even though I own a dreamcast), it wouldn't be hard, with a dvd9 they could put 9-12 games on it, and it'd sell like crazy.

There are achivements in the Sega ultimate collection too.

And that contains 40 games so it's a lot cheaper than buying them one at a time.

I disagree with that. It still lacks a ton of great Mega Drive games.

Ultimate Genesis Collection comes with achievements :P I have 1000/1000 on it, played it to death. As per fraction...it's doubtful, the ultimate genesis collection was $40 new at release, it's 29.99 now at most stores, comes with a ton of games, and history/art/etc, as well as commentary from some of the different games programmers and such, those games on xbl will be like 800 points each (12.50 in Canada), so, you buy 3 of them, and it's all ready more expensive?

Again not that i agree, but these achievements are for the individual games. The value in the Collection is higher, but that doesnt change the fact a single game is WAY cheaper Also online features and last time i remembered, Gunstar Heroes isnt on it:P

Why just not get the Ultimate Genesis Collection and these 7 games?

You will get the achievements for the single games and the collection, you will also get to play the 30 more games that you can't get in any other way on the 360 which would easily be worth the $30 price even if you got 7 of them already on the 360. This way you can get more achivements for the same game.

I just bought the Sonic Gems Collection in April and it has Sonic CD along with the Vectorman games on the Genesis for under $20 on Amazon.

In the Ultimate Genesis collection? I Don't know, I only have the PS3 version and I can't do it there so I would probably think that you can't.

I wonder if they'll somehow integrate the 'Lock-On' technology of S&K into these downloadable releases.

Yay for Gunstar being online co-op. Let's just hope whoever does the port knows what they're doing so we don't get some horribly broken online co-op like Castle Crashers:cry:

I guess Gunstar will be worth the buy since

The game has been brought up to date with online play, leaderboards, and re-worked visuals to work in a hi-def world.

Ill proboly get it for my ps3.

WOOT! I've been waiting for them to announce Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles for Live. Now all they have to do is release Streets of Rage 1 and 3 as well, and I'll be one happy camper. :)
