Being a ZX Spectrum owner (128k +2 biatch) I always hated the C64 and it's disgusting shades of brown. That and the fact that it was shaped like a warehouse.
I'd like to know what you guys think about it. I would have mentioned the Amstrad CPC, but I don't think anybody ever had one of those.

Let the votes commence ...

C64 was my first system.  I've never heard of the ZX spectrum, but if you want a war...

.

The Last Ninja > anything on the ZX spectrum.

you forgot to add a no option to your poll, this poll is biased and as such defunct. C64 had better graphics and music by far, and i never had one.

Why would a no option be required? No sane person could choose the C64 over the Speccy.

The only thing the C64 owns is a palette of 16 shades of brown.

Lemmings, Keyboard Street Fighter 2, Cannon Fodder and floppy swapping tell me differently.
In truth, never heard of the ZX Spectrum. I doubt it ever released here in the UK. :P
I was commodore all the way. I had the c64 the 128 and the amiga 500 and 2000. I've never heard of the spectrum, but I used to think the apple ii's and the ti99's were pretty lame compared to my c64. Same with the atari st and apple IIgs compared to my amiga.  There was no comparison.

C64 for me, considering it is what introduced me to gaming. We never owned an NES and all my pre SNES/386+ PC gaming was done on the thing. It also taught be the basics, at a young age, that would later serve me well in installing and playing dos games. Aztec Challenge, Bubble Bobble (pre NES i believe), Arkanoid and countless others thats names escape me now were awsome games. In fact, I need to try running it again.

Hold on hold on - the Spectrum was a great when it arrived and ammassed a strong following for sure, but the c64 had far greater capabilities and really came into its own from the mid-80's onwards. Spectrum had terrible mish-mash of colours that it look like your TV had interference. Not to mention those rubber keys. Eeeeewww. And the music on the c64, well, no argument really was there....

The C64 was my very first PC. It might not have been technologically superior, but I also enjoyed typing stories and things on it among playing all my games.
