8.5 GS... You Crazy

I was appaled to see that GS has given Empire Total War, one of the greatest games of all time an 8.5. This is total bull**** and nothing else. This is proof that GS has now become one of the worst reviewers of videogames on the internet. For shame.

8.5 = Great

Maybe I'm crazy though.

8.5 is great but when compared to other games receiving higher scores it really misses the mark...anyways Gamespot sucks for reviews anyways..

... Their complaints seemed legitimate to me.. Performance problems and AI problems.. You should be thankful those are the problems because you A) may not have the performance problem or B) even if you do future patches would fix that.. So who cares what the game got..sSubZerOo

I personally have had zero issues with the game whatsoever. Seems to me the review is simply there to create anarchy. It seems to be working as well. In any case, reviewing a game based on system requirements = bad idea. Why not downgrade every console game due to the fact that most are ran at 30fps and still have slowdown? They don't degrade for that yet degrade for stuff like this. It's unacceptable.

Gamespot should just give every game a 10.

Its a review, the reviewers opinion, he decides to him its worth an 8.5, get over it, there is no right score for a game.

:roll: Wow, an 8.5 is so bad. For same gamespot, you have no credibility for giving a game a GREAT score. Just throw out constant AAA like everyone else, that'll earn you respect.

Seriously, so much crying over .5 off what yoy wanted. Gamespot and you disagree,. Don't make it sound like they are wrong and you are right. When you have your own review scale, and write reviews to multiple games, then you can cry. Until then, you disagree with there score, no more than that.

I swear the people on SW are all about the conspiracy theories.

Yes, but when the reviewer seems to constantly have a different opinion than the majority of the population then something seems a bit strange. The job is to give an honest and unbiased opinion of the game.

I'm not going to complain, going through the review I think he justified it enough. God forbid someone on Gamespot peg a game down though I wish we still had the .1 system. I think it'd be 8.8-8.9 then.

They should move Kevin-V to make console reviews. First Endwar getting 6 while console gets 7, and PC version has no problem at all. Now one of the best PC games released recently get's only 8,5? I understand why DoW II got 8,5, but Empire: Total War? Ok, the game has some flaws, but it deservers a 9 at least.

Gamespot is totally against PC Gaming lately... It's sad.

Also, 7.5 is a good score, it says good underneath it. I've enjoyed games with lesser scores than 8.5 and not had to cry and shout bias about it. This is just funny, if you can't see it, well, good for you.
