I dont know but if you calculate it as 2 per house hold. that automattically reduces the number down to 44.5. But of course the average household is at LEAST 3. which would reduce it to just under 30% of japanese individuals. Unless you are trying to tell me to calculate it for 2 people per DS, which is not how its done

First of all it is an average some houses will have less some more. They are pretty much saying that for every 9 houses there will be 8 DSs.

The DS can be used for studying, playing, and talking to other people. In a crowded place like Tokyo, with that many people having one, the Chat Software has it's uses.
