It deserved around a 9.4 like the original did. But no we have a new rating system where games are only rated by 5 points. Why couldn't they still keep the 1 point increment for their ratings at least while the component board is removed.

If it deserved a 9.4 it would have gotten a 9.5

Considering scores will only go from intervals for .5 for example 7.5 8.0 8.5 its a pretty high score.

Or maybe it's because the Original was better.

Don't worry cows, you'll get a remake with a good score like RE4:Wii someday :D

They probably would have given it a 9.2 if it was the old rating system

It's a graphically updated port, what did you expect? You should thank your lucky stars for 9.0.

Oh man, people still don't get the new review system.

They do not up the score or down the score.

If Ninja Gaiden Sigma would have gotten a 9.4 with the old review system then it would have gotten a 9.0 now.

9.4 means not worthy of 9.5. They don't just up the score like that. Read the letter.

a 9.0 for a remake of a 3 year old game is already impressive even on the old scoring system.

Because, in their SW minds, 9.1 > 9.0.

Or maybe it's because the Original was better.

Don't worry cows, you'll get a remake with a good score like RE4:Wii someday :D

Davis092

1) This version getting a lower score does not mean that the original version was better. Proof - RE4 Wii review. They gave it a 9.1, whereas the PS2 version got 9.3 and the GC version got 9.6, but they call the Wii version "the definiitive version". When a game is released for the third time years later it will get a lower score, that's how reviewers work.

2) RE4 Wii got a 9.1 :| if thye had the new system in place at this time it would obviously get a 9.0.

That's probably why they changed it in the first place, to try to cut out some of the b.s. here.

9.0 with lots of medals is better than 9.0 with no medals. So NGS is sorta like a 9.3 I suppose.

If the original was made today and sold off at 60$, It would have scored less then 9.0

Wow. This needs to be stopped right now.

We need a thread seriously addressing this nonsense.

And we need to put an end to the speculative ownage - "well it woud have gotten an 8.8 in the old scoring system."

You clearly point out that RE4:Wii is a remake in your post. I don't see what you're trying to say in your first point. .1 can mean all of the difference but it was int he old review system, which means the actual numerical score is not comparable.

Of course it would have.

For it's time, NG was the best action/adventure game. FAstforward 3yrs and the bar has been raised and the same game (with a few extras) scores less.
