i pay for the cross game invites and chatting.....something PSn can not do.

also for the custom soundtracks while playing online. Trueskill matchmaking is also invaluable (not many cows know that term).

this is a losing battle. cows would rather go blind then read and RETAIN what u said.

LOL don't base all lemmings off him man. And even though you can say that I am a 360 fan I can admit that what sony did was really good, because now my freinds that are ps3 owners can have a great ingame XMB.

I guess it boils down to whether or not $4.16 is worht the added features. For me it is. But, as I was debating this in another thread, I do see the Cow's point more. Having a PS3 and a 360, I rarely go on PSN... but then again, most of my online buddies are on XBL.

PSN is not as bad as what the Lemmings say it is.

I paid a year for Xbox Live and the only real advantage I noticed over the PSN was in-game dashboard... something the PS3 is getting soon.

trueskill matchmaking is probably XBOX lives biggest feature.

I think they should just add some more to xbox live.

Such as what Cliffy B said in his 1up review. The party up system. That should be in every online game, so it should be a feature of live.

Live has so much more it can make standard across the board.

- party up mode
- dedicated servers for there top 10 most active xbox live games(they have earned it)
- Online Tournaments and more Betas for gamers

Are somethings I think should become a bigger portion of XBOX live. There is also always the option of adding an internet browser. Making the online video rentals better(WTF 24 hour limit).

Hell I would also like a Buy the Movie and download it to the 360 option.

I don't see why XBOX live hasn't had anything major in awhile. XNA and community games and avatars are the only things I see coming in the future so far, and even then Microsoft should have increased the gap between Live and PSN every year.

I love all my systems equally but PC and PS3 with free online = no reason to pay for XBLGold. I get some free trials here and there, it's nice but like I said a price tag isn't really justifiable

What do they give back? Online play??? An in-game dashboard? I dont care about all that other stuff that alot of people (like myself) who never even knew it existed, like True Matchmaking.

When I paid for Live, it was like a "pay and forget" because playing online games on a console is second nature to me. It's like, "yeah, I have to pay to play this game online even though I could log on to my PS3/Wii/PS2/DS/PSP right now and do the same."

Dont get me wrong, Xbox Live is wonderful. But the online portion shouldnt have to be paid to use... it's the features that should be paid for. At least then you have an option.

i already pay for internet service so xbox live is pretty ridiculous to me.for people that actually live in the real world (i.e. pay their own bills, buy their own games/systems) this double-billing is very crappy, and for me, unacceptable. If you have any experience with PC's, and online gaming back when consoles couldn't, xbox Live's entire existence is kind of an insult. In my mind it is akin to that #%@& Sega Channel. Experienced it at the rich neighbor's house as a kid, quite terrible.

If paying for online gaming is so bad, then why does WOW have the biggest userbase of any online game? Doesn't that game cost money in order for you to play?

There will always continue to be minor differences between the services... hopefully. That's what differentiates the two. However, the minor differences that you pointed out are hardly worth paying for. Specifically when quite a few of the PSN games do offer the same exact choices, just w/o a unified name or terminalogy for the service.

What you pay for with Live is for every game to offer the same online features. This is both good and bad. Because we've seen that PS3 exclusives normally offer the same features, and some offer even more. The Clan Support in MGO is currently unmatched, and the community features for Resistance2 are on track to be unmatched as well (clan & community web pages accessible from within the game FTW). On the other hand, the initial singup to use MGO represents the greatest pain I have ever experienced in gaming, it sucks. But once you get through the pain of signing up, the game offers more community features than any other game out.

So uniformity is cool... but it also limits developers that want to be more creative and competitive in their online features. We saw this same issue with the lack of mods in the 360's UT3. All in all, PSN is probably the better service now.

Ouch! $80 a year just to enjoy your games online! Live is a great service. But honestly it should be free.

Chatting and custom soundtracks will be implemented (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong), July 2nd. So the list of features that XBL has over PSN, is starting to narrow down slowly.

What Lemmings fail to realize is...

"a big reson why i will pay 50 bucks a year for xbox live"

Answer : Because you dont own a PS3...

Paying to play online is stupid, and a waste of money, no matter how you spin it, if your friendly with your friends than call them up and say, yo lets play some COD4...

who gives a crap about friend invites and cross game chatting, pick up a damn phone

This is the silliest thing I've heard. Some people here don't actually know friends offline like the people who get married off of WoW. LOL. When I see a friend online, it's cool to cross game invite. Not cool is calling a person I only know as HeadshotDan1835 while he's having dinner with his family. BTW, more lemmings have 2-3 consoles while most cows have only one system and defend it to the death.

Cross game chat is actually a very useful feature for me. It might not be for you, but to me it is a great feature.

Gamerscore is lame. I'm playing lone wolves on halo 3 and people are asking if they can get a triple kill or 2 for 1 laser kill. Its so lame how desperate people are to get an "achievement". PS3 games actually have dedicated servers. How come big games like Halo3 do not have this? We can still only chat with 1 person at a time and the dashboard is slow as **** It feels so sluggish at times. Also rep is also lame.

Well watching those two videos outlining the 2.40 update today has impressed me a lot! PSN will shoot up now in quality for me, but im still not mad for having to pay M$ for Live. Its an excellent service too, but hopefully M$ does something now to help justify the $50 price tag more.

Face it, $50 a year really isn't that much cash. I'm sure the Cows will be upset once Sorny starts charging. They'll find a way to shuffle through your wallet to pay for that incredible loss on the hardware they have right now..

The TC gives a great example of what a leemin in denial sounds likePS_John

WTF?? You have the audacity to post these statements after your epic debacles? You have never owned a 360 and have no idea what XBL is like. So please don't comment on things that you don't have a clue about. XBL, to me and many others, is worth it.

This is all standard stuff.

Reality is MS charges you to be allowed to acess the online content of games you already own. For a year.

PS-John!!! Wow, I thought you would have left SW, or created a new account.
