Xbox 1's backwards compatibility is a fail. At least on PS2 and PS3 all games were immediately playable. It must suck to just wait and hope they add a game you want to play.

You don't have to pay for anything if you kept the console that's written on the cover of the game you already own. I mean, Ape Escape 2 has Playstation 2 on the cover... it's not like they sold you promising it would run in anything but a PS2

And then people reply to his twitter with requests for some reason whenever he announces new games. As if he would be like "Oh you want Max Payne 3.... ok, well since you asked! Here you go!"

But anyways, Saints Row 2 was a blast back in the good old days, Xbox One owners no doubt will enjoy this game then Grand Theft Auto series :)

Maybe Volition should play it as well, to remember why we liked the series and hate Agents Of Mayhem.

Saints Row 2 was a fun game but the game is almost 10 years old already and the last Saints Row game I played was Get out of Hell. The series isn't as good as it used to be.

Yup, because that's your options. Either stack your PS2 on top of your PS3 on top of your PS4 and play the games you paid for, or pay Sony again to pay the same games on your PS4 which is powerful enough to emulate them without problems.

I always keep my last-gen consoles to play older games if I want to and most of all, there 100% BC free! When I buy a new console, I expect to play new games. Remasters/remakes are okay.

In the old days I know people used an adblock script or something so they wouldn't even see posts from certain users

It just hides the blocked users replies and doesn't give you alerts if they reply to you.

I'm happy for you. I sell my old console, because a) Somebody somewhere will buy them, and that money goes towards new consoles and b) The Wife doesn't appreciate a haystack of odd looking old boxes filling up the TV room.

Nope, I use my new console to play new games, as well as replay my old ones - especially if they get a nice enhancement.

But we're both happy. so where's the problem?

Oh right - some people don't want other people on other consoles to have, and enjoy options they don't have.

All I'm saying is BC is hardly anything to drool over. You buy new consoles to play new games. BC has always been a nice bonus option but nowadays, I just don't care for it.

BC is a nice option but Microsoft are using this to deflect the fact they have little in terms of first party. It's worrying as an Xbox one owner.

While I do keep my old consoles I still want the new consoles to support backwards compatibility. It’s much more convenient to be able to play an older gen game on a whim on the newer system then have to hook up your older system even if you just want to briefly play an older title to scratch that nostalgia itch. When you get more and more systems it just makes it very impractical to keep them all hooked up indefinitely. Also the older systems won’t last forever so supporting backwards compatibility on the newer systems gives one an extra sense of security of being able to play any game from their library of games. Backwards compatibility just makes so much sense in this day and age of being able to buy all your games digitally.

It's nothing special. I've replayed Bioshock, Portal 2, Half Life 2, Red dead and a handful of other games - but nobody (Except troll posts like these) is suggesting it's worth buying a console for. Not having it on PS4 on the other hand, means I don't have any use for my old ps2 and ps3 games.

While that is true, I sometimes like to Retro game when I feel nostalgia kicking-in, I like to hook up my N64 just for some fun gaming with Goldeneye or Mario 64 for good times sakes. I tend to make sure my old consoles are as good shape as I can. It's the older consoles I try to keep up the most cause some of the games are hard to come by again.
