there seems to be a common misconception about lair .

everybody says that its too repetitive and stuff like that ... but i dont think so .

first of all : the game isn't about shooting dragons with fireballs . firing these fireballs is one of your weapons , but it's not the only way you can kill your enemies .. infact you can't kill most of the enemies using your fire ... if anybody saw the interviews with julian , he would understand what i mean , the guy said that most of the enemy dragons and troops require you to perfprm melee attacks , he also said that you can't get through the game only by using fire balls .

the gameplay mechanics include :

FIRING FIREBALLS : which is so normal for a dragon but wont do the job ( kinda like dante's guns ..you can kill some enemies by using them ... but the most time you need to attack them with your sword ) ( or like god of war 2 ... you can use your bow .. but you wont do serious damage without your blades )

GOD OF WARISH MELEE ATTACKS : any one familiar with god of war series understands but it will also take advantage of the sixaxis motion sensor ( doing gestures ) .. and this is done in the game in a really cool way

COMBO ATTACKS : in this you will fight another dragon in a tekken like style , and as you proceed into the game you will unlock new moves

another important aspect of the gameplay is on ground combat ... people have been acting rediculous about that lately ...well it's not your principal role to fight on ground ..its kinda like a support to your troops ..think of it as an airfighter : your actuall goal is to fight other fighters not to take care of the enemy troops ... and about the enemy troops being so dump that they wont attack you ... i think the dumpest thing on earth is to try attacking a 30 foot dragon ( as if it's gonna hurt it anyway ) ..so of course they have to be afraid of it ...they are not kamikazis or war heroes ..they are just soldiers ..

one last thing ..about the value : look at games like god of war and kameo ...they offer quality ..its not important if a game lasts long if it sucks already ..and this game has a good replay value with the medal system and the bonuses

also , the maps in lair are so huge and well detailed in a way that will make you want to play it more than one time to discover these maps and try to finish the game several times in different ways and styles ...

finally , we should support any new ip that promises to deliver .. games like lair, HS , uncharted , warhawk , gears ,mass effect ,bioshock  seem to be defining a new era in gaming ... a great one ...,

I think the repetitiveness is more to do with the grinding of the enemy armys than the combat mechanics, I would assume anyway.

Lair hopefully will be the first PS3 title I can actually buy and be happy about buying. Resistance to me just wasn't a next-gen experience and Motorstorm was, well, a waste (sorry fans, no gameplay options makes me very angry).

I need something to go on my PS3 that I can love as much as Lost Planet, Dead Rising and Crackdown on my 360 and hopefully Lair will be that something. I don't think it looks repetitive at all. The gameplay looks solid and you know there is variety in what you can do when you can rip off the heads of beasts the enemy is using and throw the head back into a pile of troops fighting against you. That's just freaking sweet. Plus, the boss fights look completely different than the normal game, showing less frantic combat in the air and more strategy as to how you approach the boss and more emphasis on single enemy assualt rather than multiple enemy, dynasty warriors type gameplay which you'll find often in the other levels.

It looks great graphically, it sounds good from what I've heard in gameplay demo's around the net and hopefully, the sixaxis controls can keep stable enough not to ruin the whole experience. This game will be incredible.

I was hoping the 'common misconception' was that it wasn't going to have a choppy framerate and fighting knights that stand like scarecrows.
