I can tell you the worst game with the surprisingly best looking fire. That would be Wanted: Weapons Of Fate. I enjoyed the game despite its flaws, but all I can remember thinking during a level where you're shooting your way out of a burning building was, "Did they spend most of their time working on the fire?!?"

The mechanics of this game revolve around the use of fire. The spread of fire, modeling, etc. is more sophisticated than any other game. This is not to say Alone in the Dark is a great game, it just does fire well.
