Seriously, its from Valve, and its their first ever non-FPS. This should be getting a lot more hype right now. Valve always goes big at GDC too, we might even see it there.

I'd play DotA if Starcraft didn't exist. But it exists.

I never played the original so can't say I'm that interested. Besides, there are way too many games coming out this year. :D

the simplist analogy I can give is that its like Chess with each player controlling a different unit as though it were an action RPG, with the pawns being AI controlled and contually spawned.

Its sort of similar to a competative tower defense game where both people play at the same time.

Until they release some actual footage/screens of it, not really. They've not even said much about it since it was announced. I also really doubt many here have played the original.
