Companies don't advertise the games on TV, alot of games sell big on consoles because of advertisement on TV.

Games like...

Crysis

World in Conflict

and etc should be advertised.

If they want to get the console nubs who spread false info on PC prices saying it cost thousands, companies like Nvidia, Intel, and AMD should advertise their graphic cards and other PC hardware and inform the uninformed (alot of americans)

You guys have to admit PC games sell extremely well for not being advertised much.

Video games almost never get advertised. Except some casual games and the very occasional FPS.

yeah, but pc gamers dont watch as much tv as they maybe used to. i havent watched television in 2 years. i just download krap now. so i only see ads on the internets, which is probably the best place to advertise pc games anyway.

PC gamers (and developers) don't want the audience that television advertising would attract, i.e. the audience that thinks all shooters should be shallow and linear, that all strategy games shouldn't have strategy, and that all games should be military games.

I can't really think of an audience to target it at. Because, lets face it, you have to know a few things about computers to get a game to run smoothly. And, well, I can't really think of a channel that PC gamers would watch. According to G4 you need to 8800GT's to run Crysis, and QVC has tried to sell gaming rigs, anyway does anyone know a channel a PC gamer would typical watch?

I see what you mean, if you don't have hardware you can't use the Internet in the first place. I really dont' know. Although I saw best buy commercials advertising different PCs.

Nice job thinking of a number between 1 and 999 and slapping on a "million" to make it look special.

There aren't 263 million PC gamers, trust me.

pc owners doesnt necessarily translate to Pc gamers. And check that number because many have stopped gaming on PCS and went to consoles, me being one of them.

that number is a groosly exagerated fabrication and everybody knows it.

 I bought a Wii and 360 but barely use them, I guess the 20 million Xbox/Wii's is a lie too.

Playstation Magazine also said that the PS3 has the most advanced games that could process 192 gazillion jillion pillion calculations per second; the Official Xbox Magazine said that Xbox 360's were capable of producing Crysis-quality graphics that could also massage your feet at the push of a button; Nintendo Power told us that the Wii could give us virtual sex games that could remove the need of having a girlfriend or spouse present in the house at least once a week.

Just because a magazine says something, doesn't mean it's true. :|

Sources that say PC Gaming is going downhill are companies like Epic who get mad when there console trash doesn't sell on PC. You say consoles are growing faster, that is true only because of the Wii

CONFIRMED: a PC supremacist admitted that the average consumer is more likely to buy a console then invest in a gaming PC. He admitted that PC gaming is not mainstream as it clearly isnt a "poor mans" system.

its not a poor mans system unlike the consoles... a pc requires more than just games..you need knowledge about different things such as maintaing your pc and etc, the average consumer would buy a console because they no notlhing of pcs..its like a dif language to them pc is mainstream in the fact that many people are getting into pc gaming by playing the old pc classics. thus more people will become intrested in there pc and upgrade them and soon join the pc crowd to play different newer games..

wow is so accesable that even a 10 year old could get into it as well as a 30 year old, but that 10y is just starting gaming, so he likes that game he is playing on pc and becomes intrested, and the rest is the above statement

console are mainstream for a different reason..such as accesabliity, ease of use and price point there major selling point..

OMFG WTF MAN. You actually made a post worth reading. Hot damn Paintballz, there may actually be hope for you after all. I agree. I think it is funny when consolites talk about PC sales not being as good as consoles sales. Try not running ads for your games and see how they compare to PC game sales.

o, rly?

PCGA has said PC Gaming is growing rapidly

It is the single most profitable platform

30 million Gefore 8 series sold (thats more than 360 worldwide sales)

PC gaming is growing

263 million pc gamers? yeah right. And 30 million Geforce 8 series sold doesn't translate directly into 30 million individual consumers that bought the 8 series cards because some of thos people buy more than one to run them in SLI. You should know that shouldn't you?
