[QUOTE="bluebrad1974"]It's one of those things that sounds good on paper, but when it's here it will be just an unused gimmick. Not supporting voice chat and not having a single identity ruins the chances of "Home" being what Sony hopes it could be. Most people will play around with it at first, then it will be forgotten, because the social interaction is so limited.TekkenMaster606

Same here, I hope they make this work and get some quality games out, than it would justify paying $600 for a PS3.
I would like to know if the theatre is actually going to play real movies that people pay admission to watch? Because that would be a great online social feature.bluebrad1974

my thoughts on pshome is. it reminds me of most MMO's just without the weapons and armor and monsters which makes MMO's fun. my question is if it free. how will sony maintain a server to hold alot of people and will they have a dedicated server and who will be paying for it. or will that be included with the many microtransactions that the service will provide. if that the case then if you really look at it you are paying for it though payments on cloth or stupid items.v-vega75

i think it cool. but still not 600$ cool when i can do the same thing on my pc for 35$ maybe more v-vega75PS3 detractors must have this stored away somewhere so that they can just cut and paste it every time Sony makes an announcement.

The has to be a point where all the things that "still don't make it worth the $600" add up.

I'm stumped on that one. In the keynote, he says that the video advertisements are being run "in the world". So, I assume that they aren't downloaded to the HDD. But I'm like you, I don't think that they would be able to produce the bandwidth to stream a movie.bluebrad1974
I just want to know if they plan on integrating futures titles into this service. Tournaments, special events at certain times within PSHome. Maybe easter egg type hunts where winners get free downloads and such..
But I could imagine a huge Second Life type conference or something where people like Hideo, Kaz, Ken, or for me, the god himself Katsuhiro Harada show up and interact with the gamers...
TekkenMaster606
Envision. Gamers coming together through Home, to meet up, interact and play some fine gaming of Tekken 6 ;) It'll be kinda like the arcade all over again!
anyone else think they will have filters and things like that for racist language, block lists etc? And i wonder how much a chair will cost in the "game" whatever it is...09091988Nitpicking.

If you watched the GDC presentation, which I doubt you have, there will be plenty of basics to use and achievement type of unlocks that you may use for your Hall of Fame room and your own apartment. It's the fancy or as Phil calls them, premium items that will cost a little extra cash.

How can you agree with something that exists? Go watch the full GDC presentation. Home has all of the features of a full interaction within Home. Text, video, voice, etc. And to not have a single identity? You're custom making your avatar to your preference. It's your unique character, and thus shows a pure identity to show others of who you are. Don't forget your own apartment and Hall of Fame room. Again, your customizations.
I think it's a bloody awesome idea. I think it will be used often and it won't be gimmicky. But my only problem will be the voice chat area. It's suppose to be a way of interacting with other people like an MMO, but I believe typing will be the only way to do that. But they do indeed need a voice chat type thing and if they do add one hopefully you can voice chat with more then ONE person at a time. My biggest pet peeve of all on the 360. I would rather not even have voice chat. I hate going back and forth, exiting and re-entering voice chats with several people. But hopefully 360 will fix that with the spring update and hopefully PS3 will add that.
Wii26
It was mentioned in the demo that there would be voice proximities. Just like in Halo 2. So if you want to talk as a group, you have to stand together as a group as if you are talking.
There is still so much I want to know about the service.cakeorrdeathWhy so skeptical? Why is it so hard to believe it will be a great feature? Seriously, have any PS brand disappoint you? Why are you not skeptical of MS? After all they pulled the plug on a system that cost the same as the PS2, but didn't last long. Take this information with a grain of salt. Stop implying that it might not be good because it whon't have this and that. The big picture is more important than the little one.
