Hello everyone!

I just want to know what people qualify/quantify as their favorite memory in a game. A single moment where something penetrated deep into their emotions, maybe even instincts.

It could be funny as hell or something that made you scream like a little girl or anything in between. Thanks! :)

p.s.

I know this is system wars and a level of bias must be in the topic to even be considered in the right section, so I will just say that I think of Playstation when I think of a game maker that makes a lot of games that pull at my emotions. Just the intro to Gravity Rush made feel like Kat was more human and fragile than some supernatural freak of nature who can just wreck the beautiful world.

:)

Your turn!

As for me, MGS3 ending, which is about the same as RDR. Can't tell what without spoilers.

Also, the introduction of the first zombie in RE, the licker in RE2 and Nemesis in RE3

Although being honest, the RDR ending has 2 parts IMO... that's probably the only thing we can say about it without really spoiling anything.

Huh. Well, sounds interesting!

"Also, the introduction of the first zombie in RE, the licker in RE2 and Nemesis in RE3"

Nemesis is a badass. (Dunno about the others, though)

I hated and was terrified of one part in the game where you walked out (before heading into a gardin looking part with a statue) and was in this wide open street with zombies than the Nemisis shows up out of nowhere to punch the zombies out of the way to try and kill me. I COULD BARELY EVEN MOVE THE ANALOG STICK WITHOUT SHAKING AND SCREAMING! )_)

I think I need to change my pants right now. lol

The only one I can think of, which probably means its the one that has stuck with me all this time, is the cutscene where (SPOILER) Emma (?) dies in Metal Gear Solid 2. Right before they leave that room, the cutscene features them standing up and walking out in slow motion. It just brought out the fact that they were working together, that they have something to do and they are in it together. It also helped that the music was great, and the moment was so touching before it that you wanted them to succeed.Well, that was what I felt and thought.

Basically from the 2:20 mark on this video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iroFnnBvezg

After watching that video, I'm going to say that, that scene was probably one of the most touching as well, but that is going away from my point before (unless someone else found that this whole scene stuck with them).

Hmm. So true of a lot of games, I think. I could not help but overhear this as a big theme in Infamous 2. The "good Cole" and "bad Cole" infamous (no pun intended) people keep making.

Oh, and I really apologize if I am not expanding and proving more of my own examples beyong Playstation or the big three.

... I think one of the bigger "light bulb" moments in my recent memory has been playing with Angry Birdsand realizing I could roughly map acceleration and length problems directly by just using the touch screen. Atm, 'course, I was just like "huh, I just need to aim it like this *sling!*". The thing about that is, the mechnic and feeling behind that has been implemented in (arguably) better ways by other games.

No man, you got it wrong... inFamous has 2 endings, meaning you have to play it twice to get both endings, which is not the case for RDR, where the ending consists in 2 parts. I mean, the game ends and then you can get a lil extra, but that extra can really go unnoticed.

Yeah, I know who it was. I watched it on a play through by some YT user called dspgaming (I think) and he kinda figured it out as he played so it was not a big shock to me because it was like having a friend who already knew and saw a lot of pieces of the puzzle and both of you kinda put two and two together.

So, are you looking forward to "Beyond: Two Souls" just based on the fact it made by the same studio who made HR?

Okay, so inFamous 2 has a different ending based on chain events. Good cool if your moral decisions and actions are good and bad cole if you play like a d-bag. Got it.

Like, a super secret gun you can use when you replay the game again? (ala Silent Hill alien gun) Or some sort of trophy/achievement?

Plenty of experiences in WoW over the years. When I was younger, I played OoT and MM with my father (we swapped a lot, I enjoyed watching). He's one of those sports loving, anti-gamer types, but he really enjoyed Zelda. Hasn't been interested in any other game since except poker that he got for free on his iPhone (he doesn't know how to buy apps or anything, not that he'd want to). Anyway, having memories of two of the greatest games ever made with my dad is pretty awesome.

Actual, specific moments? There have been plenty, but some that spring to mind occurred in NIER.
Walking around Seafront aimlessly for literally 15-20 minutes, trying to decided whether to tell the lonely old lighthouse lady that the letters she thinks she's been sending to her old lover for over fifty years have actually been stockpiled by the postman, who felt too sorry to tell her that her husband had died all that time ago, and that the whole town had been pretending to be her lover writing letters back to her. The old lady is about to die because of the disease and you have the choice to tell her the truth or play along.. The sidequest was relatively long and you sort of got to know about the old lady a bit, and your feelings towards her change completely when you learn the truth behind her story.
It's funny how all these Western RPG's that advertise important decisions have never had near the same effect as that side mission that could easily be skipped had. I was choking up. I decided to tell her the truth.. I felt good with how the ending to that side mission played out. There were plenty of obscure side missions that many wrote off as fetch quests that really had touching stories behind them... Man, I'm going to play NIER again, sixth playthrough here I come.

Ok, usually in sandbox games you're free to roam even after you beat the game... in RDR, there's something you can do after the ending to leave no loose ends in the story.

EDIT: Why don't you just play it??? It's a great game IMO. Unless of course, you're a Nintendo guy.

Whoa, I am guessing you played a lot of games since you named some retro ones. I think I have played a lot of those just by emu's and also on the original games console.

So when you like an old game and it is remastered to be in HD (or w/e) do you like the old look or the new look of the game?

So many Kingdom Hearts moments.. So I'll say the two moments from Phoenix Wright - When Mia Fey died, I grew to like her throughout the first case, that I was heartbroken when she was murdered. -Then when Maya reunites with Mia in Pearl Fey's body, I'm not going to lie a teared up a bit.

First time I played COD2(my first next gen game).

Playing a Super Smash Bros Melee demo at Circuit City for the first time.

RDR ending

Arkham City ending

Both had really unexpected twists that almost had me tearing up

Battlefield 3 also has some really intense moments in multiplayer

The only one I can think of, which probably means its the one that has stuck with me all this time, is the cutscene where (SPOILER) Emma (?) dies in Metal Gear Solid 2. Right before they leave that room, the cutscene features them standing up and walking out in slow motion. It just brought out the fact that they were working together, that they have something to do and they are in it together. It also helped that the music was great, and the moment was so touching before it that you wanted them to succeed.Well, that was what I felt and thought.

Basically from the 2:20 mark on this video.

After watching that video, I'm going to say that, that scene was probably one of the most touching as well, but that is going away from my point before (unless someone else found that this whole scene stuck with them).

Hmm. That's interesting. I can see something of that after you linked the video and brought it to my attention. Thanks for that, btw!

That guy with the glasses kinda seems like a cry baby, but I like the monologue at the end. How he said he just wanted love or something. I think a lot of people can relate to that.
