A moment of silence for a dead genre-Beat'em up...any fans here?

i have very good memories from this genres..in the arcade at the mall near us..playing with friends or my sister..then it came to consoles and i was happy i could always play it..then it just faded away...the last one i played was the bouncer...any beat em up fan here?

The TMNT arcade game for the 360 brought back so many memories!

Also, the GBA got a great beat em up when the released the TMNT game based on the movie. It's bargain bin price now, you should check it out.

im not flamin too ..sry if i came off as harsh..

ok i will try to explain:

hack n slash is basically an rpg meeting gta or an adventure game..like dmc4..you go to different places..learn new skills magics and etc..level up and etc,,

BUT beat em up is a fighting game like tekken and the screen is a sidescroller...you just move forward and kill thats it..simple and amazing..

you have to play to truly understand the beauty

I would say DW is not a "traditional side scolling beatem up game". I've always like theses games. i'd buy one of the arcade machines for the old xmen game if i had room.

Those are fighting games, most beat'em up games are side scrollers where you punch and kick everything that comes on screen, you can also throw people in most of them. Look into River City Ransom Final Fight, Golden Axe, the older TMNT games, not the garbage new ones, and many more I don't feel like saying. Viewtiful Joe is the last good one I can think of.
