A New Challenge - Gamers Throwdown

A little over two years ago, in an effort to end stupidity in System Wars, I created "The Cheeseburger Bet". It wasn't a real bet, but a lot of people took me up on it. I'd like to issue a new challenge to System Wars today, but hey, I have my integrity to uphold, so for those calling for it - here it is. I have been KILLZOWNED. Ouch.

It feels good to see Killzone 2 "rock the ratings". I'm a gamer at heart, for me, any time a system gets a great game, it's a good day. But too often in System Wars we just see the hatred come out. We see people whine who don't even own a game - who will, let's face it, NEVER own the game they complain about it. That's not (to me) what a system war is about. A system war is about friendly rivalrycelebrating how awesome the games / systems we love are, not tearing down the other systems - at least, not all the time.

Yes, that's my copy of Halo Wars LE - I love it, it's fun, and a 6.5 on GS (wonky score ) doesn't change that. What's the point of all this? It's time for a THROWDOWN. A real System War. A put-up or shut-up opportunity.

You have been challenged, and this time, there must be evidence - photographic evidence, gamertags, pictures of your collections, setups, old systems, rare games, favorite games, PCs, steam collections, controllers, joysticks, racing wheels, posters, swag, and stuff. The challenge? Most badaxe setup, best collection, most obscure game, weirdest collectable- you name it. The prize? Recognition, glory, and System Wars cred - for you, for your favorite system, or for your "fanboy group". It's time for the REAL GAMERS to take on the haters.

To kick us off - my setup - an Xbox 360, Wii, and Vista PC hooked up to an Epson multimedia projector, Spherex 5.1 surround system, and custom 80" silver screen. But I know you can top that - so let's see it.

This is only a small portion of my games collection. In sight we have Age of Empires 3 with Expansions, Supreme Commander with expansion, Fallout 3, World in Conflict, Crysis, Crysis Warhead, the Sim City Box, Company of Heroes, Far Cry 2, Red Alert 3, STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, Sins of a Solar Empire, Command and Conquer 3 with expansion, and an assorted mess of Xbox and Xbox 360 titles

EDIT: Oh, and quite a fewgame programming books for good measure

No one wants to see the jumbled mess that is my gaming setup, it will make you cry at the dissorginization of it all and then weep at how many games I own....and then cringe as there is a christmas tree not far from my TV setup.Jynxzor

My setup wasn't anything special. Just a 26" Sylvania LCD HDTV with a 360 Elite.

Nice looking cheeseburger but I have to say 2 things....

1) badly framed posters should be outlawed

2) that large of a TV w/o blu-ray.... *sigh*

anyway, we all play around in SW but I would like for it to be lighthearted with cheeseburger/pizza bets :D

In the end we all just want to play some good games.

Whoa, whoa. You consider the current climate of System Wars WORSE than the old days? This place used to be the sphincter of the gaming community. A "flop" meant the most vicious, ruthless, disgusting trolling and bickering I have ever seen in my life.

On the other hand, last week the PS3's most derided game EVER made AAA status, and a Halo game failed to meet the A mark, and the forums barely even burped. Can you imagine the calamity that would have caused a year ago?? You actually want that? These forums are somewhat sensible for the first time ever.

I would take a picture of all my stuff... but the camera on my phone sucks...

Although, I do have this picture of my MGS3 Subsistence LE, which has an average market value of $250 USD.



I do wish I had purchased 10 copies like I had originally intended. Had I known it was going to be worth that much in three years, I would have bought 100.
