I believe he's referring to this year, Which I can agree with. There have been some amazing games on PC this year, but I don't think they have the broad appeal as some of the Console games this year. Not to mention two 10's on Consoles this year (one of them timed exclusive for consoles). On the other hand he's just trolling.

Well I saw that of course. He is just trolling, but I do also doubt PC will win GOTY. It will win in other catagories. Best Shooter, Strategy, Best Adventure (By default :P) Graphics etc.

In certain situations I think that Consoles vs. PC vs. Handhelds is appropriate. They all play very differently, it's very easy to lump them together.

GTAIV will be GOTY. 10's across the board AND it's multiplat.

Not that I agree with it, but I didn't necessarily agree with the score it got either.

Honestly, it is impossible to know because for a LONG time they were kept seperate. Warcraft III may have won GotY 2002 if the PC and consoles were put together...

Total Annihilation also won the 1997 GotY. That is a strategy game.

Can you please give a list of each consoles for GOTY running games.

Depends on how popular the games are. Most modern mainstream gaming websites name popular titles as their "games of the year" over obscure titles that nobody knows about. Why name a game no one has heard of and receive no publicity? Controversy also works too but I think popularity is ironically, more popular.foxhound_fox

But you're basically adminiting that a PC Exclusive has no shot at  2008 GOTY (Sins has a better shot than others because it's not an expansion pack,  but Sins still has no shot whatsoever)

Downloading L4D demo now.  I'll get back to you on that.  My room mate was telling me it was a blast the other day.  I also haven't picked up WOTLK yet.  I'm falling behind!

Most people claim GOTY has nothing to do with popularity, but the truth is, obscure games will never get nominated for GOTY on websites like GS, we know there're a lot of those kind of games on PC that never get reviewed, let alone nominated for GOTY. SMG,RE4,WOW and GEOW are all popular games

but honest GOTY doesn't mean a lot to pc gamers.
