[QUOTE="mismajor99"]I know at least 6 people as well as my brother (all previous PS2 owners) that refuse to shell out the dough for a PS3, nor do they want a 360. Not only would they all buy a PS3 if it was priced similar to the 360, if they made Madden for the PS3 only and not the PS2(which would never happen due to sales), it would solidify their purchase. I think Sony's biggest enemy when it comes to sales is their own PS2, which is still a great console in the eyes of average gamers. Most gamers don't go to gaming sites, so a lot of opinions you see on these boards are complete nonsense in relation to what the average person is thinking. gamespot813
Newsflash: your 6 friends and your brothers does not = the world. Can't judge how a pricedrop will affect the PS3 just from your few sources. I do agree that the boards provide some biased information, but once in a while, we get people who have links to some great sources of evidence and they say the PS3's demand just isn't very high right now.
When did I equate them being = to the world? I was injecting my own experience into the conversation. I don't need a newsflash. I know actual human beings that would buy a PS3 if it wasn't priced so high. I don't need useless fanboy rants or links to understand why the PS3 isn't selling. The majority of people are casual gamers, and they aren't going to shell out 600 dollars for a system right now that plays Madden or other popular games. You underestimate the Sony name brand, which has an extremely high brand recognition, for anyone not to realize this is being foolish. I'm not an owner of a PS3, but I'm also not going to lie to myself and say that they can't put out an amazing product. Sony just needs a few things to happen, and the flood gates are going to open up. Where are the 100 plus million PS2 owners at? I would bet they are waiting for A) More games that appeal to them to be released and B) A Price Drop.
Far too many people here on SW bash Sony, and as someone on the outside of it all, just seems foolish.
