Are there any Halo fans who've played a PC shooter before Halo? If so, how many and which ones?goofd84I played Quake a little. Why does it matter?

Because this is a loaded question. Without saying it, IMO, he is suggesting that the only people who like Halo will have been those who never played a decent FPS on PC.
[QUOTE="SAGE_OF_FIRE"]I like halo and yes I have played many pc shooters. goofd84But are you a fan of any of the Halos? Didn't like halo 2. I loved halo 1 (played pc version), and Halo 3 is great fun with friends.

And while most people on this site have likely played other FPS games, there are many likely younger gamers who may have started out with Halo. The only problem I see with Halo is that many fans can't take it for what it is. It may be fun, but it isn't infalible.
I'm primarily a PC gamer, so yes, yes I did.
There are many shooters that are better than Halo, but that doesn't make Halo any less enjoyable.
Yeah, I played enough. Quake 2, Quake 3, UT, UT 2003, SoF2, a little CSS.
O yeah, and the Dooms and Wolfenstein if they count.
I actually purchased Wolfenstein the other day on XBL :P

I played PC before ever buying an Xbox.
I don't understand why people don't get it. Why can't someone enjoy a console FPS? I loved Goldeneye even though I had Half Life, Unreal Tournament, and Quake around the same time, and I really enjoyed playing Halo as well.
I've played Half-Life 2, Crysis, Team Fortress 2, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and I prefer Halo 3 to all of them, only because of online.

I thought Halo for the PC was absolute garbage =\ I never understood the hype the game had until I played Halo 3 for the xbox, the games great on the 360 no doubt, but I found it really mediocre on pc.

lets see... Doom Quake Hexen Heritic Duke Nukem 3D Unreal Half-life Counterstrike Wolfenstine Dark Forces Dark Forces 2 Serious Sam Red Faction MoH:AA MoH:AAS BF:1942 UT2K3 and Red Faction 2 What was the point of this thread? i've been playing FPS long before the halo series started..nice try :roll:lawlessxYour sig mocks one of my favourite moments in that series beautifully. :)
Fail.
You made this thread on GameTrailers and it got locked, and you got banned. Everyone knows the mods don't do anything over there so you're going to make this thread on GameSpot?
We just barely knew ya, goodbye.

His point that he tried to make was that all Halo fans are 12 year olds whose first FPS was either Halo CE, Halo2 or Halo 3.
He got embarrassed by Halo haters on GameTrailers. That's how you know you fail as a troll if the Halo haters even have to "defend" Halo.
Are there any Halo fans who've played a PC shooter before Halo? If so, how many and which ones? Note: I have nothing against Halo.goofd84Yes, I have played alot of PC shooters before Halo. I dont remember all of them, either, but it goes back to the first Doom and Wolfenstein. Yeah, I prefer Halo, also.
Half life, red faction, star wars (cant remember the full name..it was first person and the lightsabre was a load of rubbish so you stuck with guns, awesome game), star wars jedi knight 2 (shooter up till you got your lightsabre :P), Quake 2 uhh theres more that I'm sure I'll remember later on. Those are some of my favs though.
So yes i have. Never found Half life all that great to be honest even when it first came out. Prefered red faction a lot more and Quakes multiplayer was godly. And I still love Halo cause you know, I've not got my head up my backside pretending everything not on a PC is inferior.

I am sure he meant Halo 1.I've played Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Call of Duty (The first one on PC) and I think Medal of Honor Pacific Assault before I played Halo.
To be quite honest, Halo was one of the first FPS's I've ever played...and I still love it to this dayCleanPlayer
Same here, and I still love playing the original on Co-Op to this day, Halo 2 wasn't great, but Halo 3 was awesome.
