A Side by Side comparson of EA vs Activision Blizzard by genre. (56K)

As maybe some people know, i am a big proponent of seeing what the public thinks is the better company, especially with Activision and Vivendi now being the largest game company in the world. So heres a small side by side comparason with my own personal input, feel free to add any other games or agree or disagree with my opinions on certain genres. So let's begin.

Round 1.

Millitary Shooter.

Activision

Call of Duty 4

It's easy to say Activision Blizzard just because of the relevence of this one game series Call of Duty, and mostly people would associate EA with what people would usually think is the infeior Medal of Honor.

But EA also owns and publishes this game series...

Hermits and Consolites can argue which one is better, but i think it varys from person to person wheather who has the better millitary shooters, so i'm giving this a tie or it's up to you guys to think about.

Outcome: Tie

Sci Fi shooters.

Activision:

Quake 4

Quake Wars

Wolfenstein (Yes i consider it Sci fi. Tesla Coils dude.)

And the unknown image of Doom 4 insert here...

How can EA possibly compete against this all star list of shooter franchises... oh... wait...

Id Software's RAGE.

Half Life Orange Box (depends if you count this)

I raise your Quake Wars with BF 2142

Left 4 Dead (A bit of a streach but if you count Wolfenstein it's not that hard to count Left 4 Dead i think)

And finally... (Drum roll)

Crysis! Warhead!

Though Activision might have the longer history and more hardcore nostalgia appeal, EA definatly has the better Sci Fi shooters that they publish.

Outcome: EA>Activision

Warcraft 3 (still relevent today)

Codename Panzers: Cold War(Euro only)

The winner? Duh it's Activision. Or more specifically the Blizzard part of Activision. I mean C&C and Codename Panzers is cool but against Warcraft and Starcraft? Theres no way! Until EA gets a hold of somehow Relic Entertainment, there is going to be no serious talk about EA's RTS vs Actiblizzard's RTS. World In Conflict is not on this list because A: Seirra is about to die and B: Vivendi seems to care less about WiC considring the cut of publishing from the console versions.

Outcome: Activision

So far it's 1 on 1. I'll update this VS battle later. If in someworld EA held the hands of Relic entertainment, who would have the best RTS? Be sure to add any games you felt were missing or post your opinions on this.

Do i really need to say anything? I mean Warhammer seems to have good hype and it looks like a cool concept with a gigantic game of capture the king going on, but World of Warcraft has been proven to be a fantastic game wining possibly all the GOTY awards of 2004 which IMO 2004 was equal if not better than 2007's line up of games.

Verdict: Activision or more specifically Blizzard.

Round 5

The better Skateboarding game.

Tony Hawk Something!

Skate

Skate it (Wii keep that in mind)

Even though the Tony Hawk games have been raved left and right even earning a rare 10 from gamespot once, the general concensus today is that Skate is the better game compared to Tony Hawk. I remember about a year or two ago where my freind that was a big skateboarder looked at Project 8 and went like "Finally, real skateboarding." Then looked at Skate and went like "No this is real skateboarding." It won several awards, earning Spikes 1# sports game and a place in gamespy's top games of 2007, but more importantly the public also feels that way as Skate against all odds beat out Tony Hawk, as sales also show that Skate is the more prefered game.

It should be noted that it may seem like an unfair comparason, but Tony Hawk has been runing for about a decade now, and EA showed that they can beat Activision at their own game, which for a while until Guitar Hero, that was Activision's game that they were known for, and beating out that is a great acomplishment.

Verdict: EA wins

This is probebly the hardest decision to make because it's like choosing your child. Bioware has always been raved as one of the best RPG studios ever, but so has blizzard. The easiest way out would probebly be a tie.
