Fios offers 50mb as their top rate of service in NY. IPTV to fully function supposedly requires a 30mb connection. Trust me, you wanna talk bandwidth ill be here all day and talk....SystemWarsManIPTV :o Never knew that existed..
[QUOTE="Spartan070"]30mb connection? Wow.xguy47i have 1.5 mbps and it's considered high speed. comcast offers the fastest available today at 8 mbps. im just saying. Comcasts inferstructure is probably coax at some point, the beauty of Fios is that it is Fiber right to the side of your house. Limitless potential. Too bad Verizon didnt go with the GPON protocol, because if they did, they could offer twice the speed they are offering right now.

actually verizon FIOS offers the fastest at 30mb, soon to be upgraded to 100mb per sec. Check it out on their website.anzollothat is pointless. you can change download speeds but the upload speeds are the same . and man i guess that explains why verizon wants $70 a month.

I agree with you there, but in time, the internet and servers will be uploading a ton more bandwidth than they are now.
Comparable to cable in NY, and it has the triple play where phone video and data can be bundled for a pretty good price. Fios is a no brainer, im not just saying that either, have done alot of research.SystemWarsManyeah in colorado you get cable, phone, and broadband for $33 each per month.
[QUOTE="Spartan070"]30mb connection? Wow.iammasonYeah.. i only have 1MB well I should say I have 30mb download 5 upload. The real way to rate bandwidth is throughput and thats up and down speeds. The reason im at 40 percent on this motorstorm demo is because the server is congested and im getting like a 128k pipe uploaded to me, so my throughput really is 128k. You are always as slow as your slowest component.

Well unfortunately in NY Cablevision is way overpriced, Im hoping Fios undershoots them because Fios is definitely the better service on all three accounts, phone, data, and video.

They outsource some, others they do themselves, whereas MS controls everything, fixes everything, and has more servers.
30 mb?? Wow, I only have 3mbPyroXDlike i said it doesnt matter, 3mb is good enough for today because like someone stated before, the servers arent just up to snuff to utilize a 30mb connection download. Its pathetic, im at 50 percent of motorstorm. I didnt know PSN was this bad. At this point i wanna turn off the PS3.

I call shenanigans on TC as I have an 8mb connection and it took less a half hour over a wireless connection for me to download the motorstorm demo.Tiefsterwas that at 4am in the morning?
I call shenanigans on TC as I have an 8mb connection and it took less a half hour over a wireless connection for me to download the motorstorm demo.Tiefstereven if that is true, i downloaded crackdown in about 3 mins, nba street in about 4 mins, and Graw 2 in about 5 mins.
Sounds fun but in the end, a only service is only as good as its support. Maybe if instead of camparing services you could let playstation know about the slow connection when downloading from their service.Resident_Hirothey probably just dont have enough servers at this time.
Well damn my Wireless Adaptor on my 360 because my PC runs at 56mb, but my 360 will lag out of say Gears while I'm in the Lobby? WTF is that?!
It took me a day and a half to download Crackdown, thats about 30+ hours.

TWC were I live is doubling the speed of road runner for free to 10mps. Not sure what the prem speed will be. Right now I'm at 8 and its pretty fast. whats the upload on the 30 FIOS?S0DA_POPINSKI5. The 50 mb pipe down 10 up is 90 bucks a month.
Well I must say all my counterparts are correct in saying xbox live pwns the PSN. I am downloading a 458 meg demo of motorstorm, and its been 40 minutes and Im at 30 percent. IN that time, I downloaded crackdown, Graw 2, and Nba Street. I have a 30 mb connection, so dont say its my connection. This isnt even close, very dissapointed in PSN so far. I am trying to be very open minded in my evaluation of the PS3, and if you read another one of my threads I said that Sony has a clear cut advantage in the sound area of the system. The online pales in comparision to live!!!!SystemWarsMan
Since you are giving a true analysis I would think you would have some common sense, because one is in the early stages and the other has been going for 4 yrs......I guarantee my check XBL didn't start out great they had to work at it, you are more a fanboy than anything.
PS you should try using spell check!!

at 75 Percent, are you gonna tell me that its my internet connection? Did Motorstorm just come on the market today for Playstation Network? Did everyone decide to download Motorstorm tonight? Did you read all my posts? What does my check XBL mean as well? This also isnt a new download either, whereas I would cut PSN some slack because of the masses trying to download a new demo.

How far away are you from sony's server? They have a server in america. Where do you live? The speed of the server should be as fast as xbl. And crackdown is 1.3 gb. While motorstorm is 800 mb. It should take you shorter download for motorstorm Did you by any chance import the a playstation 3 to europe? That would explain why the download would be slower since there isn't a near server... This just doesn't make any sense...
