1. All games available on PC day one from MS, Sony, and Nintendo. (Already made good progress in recent years.)

2. AAA developers to go back to designing good games instead of designing them around monetization and shit live services.

3. No more broken, unoptimized, and unfinished games.

No loot boxes, mobile-like purchases for PC/consoles

1). Sales of horse armour for Oblivion are a dismal failure, all attempts to introduce MTX fall flat on their face and monetising gameplay elements just leads to loads of legal troubles for publishers so they stop.

2) Games, hardware and services are all completely decoupled. People can play Halo on their switch with a PS5 controller using the Steam online backend. Or whatever combo.

3) Free hardware and games of my choice for life :D.

1. I wish Nvidia would start releasing powerful GPUs with reasonable VRAMS at fair prices.

3. And finally, I wish game developers take joy in their games meaning making games should be a passion, not for money.

This alone removes day one patches, mtx, GaaS, hackers/cheaters, etc. Plus, it forces games to be released in playable state. It would also reinvigorate local multiplayer and LANs. And it would bring back print media. Just think of the Fun Factor!

Special glasses that allow two (or preferably 4-6, maybe even 8!!) people to look at a TV/console and see different games.

Split screen is absolutely garbage, even if its just 2 players but specially when its 4 players. A terrible experience.

Imagine having three friends over, all four of you wear special glasses (that don't affect the picture quality) and you all see your own screen so all four of you sit on a couch and play COD Zombies or Warzone together.

Amazing.

A uniform platform that has game library / game launcher / chats / friend list / achievements / hour counter / store for every game available.

Imagine having PSN + XBL + GP + Nintendo + Steam + GOG + BNET + Epic + Ubisoft + EA, etc. ALL in one place, all with one single account that is just called your gamer account. Thats my dream lol.

Split screen should be fine now with everyone having giant TVs. You basically have your own personal 32inch screen per player. The problem is having a system powerful enough to run it all.

I wish every game would come to Steam , even if it takes a few years and ran appropriately for whatever hardware you have. (Basically I want the option to play everything, especially older games ,on Steam deck w/o having to do anything... special)

I wish people realized they didn't have to buy the latest game the minute it comes out and can wait for a sale, and would stop pre-ordering and otherwise going along with w/e BS companies pull .

Maybe most of all.... I wish cinematic walking never became a thing.

I suppose you could alleviate the problem slightly by moving the sofa just 1.5m away from the screen, but I feel you would have to sit in the centre to immerse yourself in it (which is obviously hard when you are two friends on the couch...

In any case, not even with my high end PC has split screen in games like Gears of War 5 been anywhere near as good / immersive as playing with your own display.

And yeah, I hard some displays could do this.

Slightly off topic from gaming, but as an A/V nerd I remember hearing about the Christie Eclipse million dollar projector that (among other things) was supposed to be able to 4K/240hz for 1 display, 4K/120hz for 2 displays or 4 different displays at 4k/60hz. People over AVforums would call it the best display ever. (as in best picture quality) I don't those features ever made it to the final product though. The gaming part was just a small bonus, one that I found pretty interesting.

And yeah, you would essentially need a system with 4 X RTX 4090s if you are going to have any hope of having 4x4K/120hz displays running at once, with today's hardware and level of visual fidelity. Nevermind needing a million dollar display lol.

Which is why it is my genie in a bottle wish.

Four people. One console/PC. One display. 4 different game screens. All at 4K/120/RT etc.

Alternatively you should be able to hook up two PS5s to the same TV, wear your glasses and they each run your own PS5 game on the same TV. Its future tech that should be possible...

I will eliminate PC gaming as a whole, it's the unflushed toilet bowl of gaming. Cheaters. Pirates everywhere.

I would eliminate Sony & MS from making hardware and only allow them to make software.

I would bring Sega back into the console market.

• OpenGL wins over DirectX back in the early 2000's ushering in a golden age of Linux gaming about 20 years earlier and breaking the nasty Windows dependency in the gaming space.
• Bestow knowledge of proper coding and design on game devs so then can make competent cross-platform applications. (Looking at you, FROM)
• Nvidia open-sources all their tech

1. MS released a console PC instead of Xbox. Plays like a console, but also plays everything on PC and can be purchased for half the price of a PC equivalent.

2. Crossplay being mandatory for all 3rd party games across all major platforms.

3. Gens last no longer than 5 years. New hardware with new features instead of being stuck with the same hardware for 7-8 years.

1. Stop online requirement for single player games

2. Bring back physical media - massive downloads kill datacaps (I'm not saying no digital, I just like physical media)

3. Remove DRM, all forms. This goes from things such as Denuvo to requiring a digital platform to run a game (such as Steam)

1. Any publicly-traded company, or company based on unlimited growth, can't make games. Games are art before anything else, you shouldn't make art for shareholders, you should make it for consumers and patrons. I got nothing against a company wanting to make a good game and be profitable, but this focus on growth is just the worst aspect of capitalism and it should be removed from almost any and all forms of art (games, music, film, etc.)

2. Microtransactions are illegal. They're just not a good enough of a practice to justify the handful of occasions it's good.

3. Developers remain or regain some semblance of independence where they have more say in development, and publishers/investors are a bit more removed from the direction the game goes in. We see what happens when developers make the game they want to make (good things), and we see what happens when suits and market research dictate what game is made (bad things). More of the former, less of the latter.

So full of hate! Damn that's cynical.

If you're referring to my PC comment, well PC is the worst gaming has to offer. Hermits stealing games, cheating, forced to use digital only, then having to download many "game stores" because there's now store exclusives, and yet Hermits are only concerned about games that are exclusive to console 🤦‍♂️

I didn't say anything that was not truthful. There are multiple storefronts one needs to download, there are a lot of pirates out there, lots of cheaters, storefront exclusives.

1) to have the internet not be a part of gaming. In a wagering of benefits to cost, it has caused so many drawbacks (DRM, ease of piracy, GaaS,monetization, releasing unfinished products to patch later, the diminishment of physical media) as opposed to benefits.

2) remove economic considerations from development. They are the cause of the stagnation of creativity for AAA titles among other things.

3) a new Silent Hunter with an unlimited budget wouldn’t be unappreciated.
