AAA tittles that will flop in sales

Prediction thread 0f 09 flops of flops of quality games (these won't be bad games). I think Batman Arkham Asylum is going to be bad though but will sell like 4 million. On a side note here is my list.

Infamous:

My hype:AAA

Sales: 150k first month, 300k overall in america.

Why: Because it is released in May, and Prototype hits close to it (nearly half the quality) but hyped up more. I believe this game will get murdered sale wise. This game is sucker punch platforming (whicH I will say is the best on ps2) and the game looks mad fun.

Brutal Legend:

Hype:AA

Sales: Less than 200k.

That is all I could think of. Heavy Rain doesn't look good. Neither does prototype.

Why is it when ever anyone talks sale they forget to mention the world? Theirs more to this planet then just NA you know that right?

If your hyping AAA for inFamous, you're just setting yourself up for dissappoint IMO. Doesn't look as fun as Crackdown either, not sure if GS uses that when dealing with scores though.moose_knuckler

Infamous isn't a AAA game in my book. I am guessing a 7.5, maybe a 8.0.

Wasn't it Ps3 fanboys saying Halo 3s attachment rate is bad, when it beats out all Ps3 games in attachment rate?

I could definitely see Brutal Legend flopping sales wise, but I have a feeling that Jack Black is going to really be pushing the game. I hope it does really well, Tim Schafer deserves it and its going to be my personal GOTY.

I Agree on inFamous you're right........ive already pre-ordered inFamous and im sure it will get a decent/good score by critics, but its releasing too close to prototype, a game that gets more hype and is generaly glorified, i mean for christ sakes if you go on deviant art and type in "Alex Mercer" you'll see loads of Fan art of him, where as with typing "Cole McGrath" nothing really shows up, and that small fact that prototype got comic book treatement, helps, and being multiplat helps too, PS3 owners will most likely buy both, i know i am, i was thinking about just renting inFamous and buying prototype but i went on ahead and bought it

Suckerpunch knows [Prototype] is a serious threat, why do you think they jumped up from June to may ?, they want it to release before [Prototype] i dont think thats gonna help much though, Prototype just has the nact for making people wet their pants when they see the gameplay

infact im willing to bet, that even if both of the games were PS3 exclusives, [Prototype] would still sell more lol, i think inFamous would have dominated, had it been released 2007 a time where the release of Prototype was far off.

Short sighted view man, bad sales even for an excellent game will result in NO further developments in most cases. THATS VERY BAD especially when regurgitated rubbish is constantly released.

Demons Souls is another one not even released over here and i DAMN IT can full on not afford to import thats how damn poor iam at the moment.

how much sales define the game as a flop? under 1 million? 2 million? Also do you mean in a certain region or worldwide sales?

I hope games with great scores get great sales because I would rather have a great new franchise than just a great new game that didn't sell well.

Ahhh. LBP not selling? Killzone 2 not selling? ahhhh poor PS3...

Sales do matter when it comes to developers wanting to put the money into developing a game for that console.

Infamous doesn't look like a AAA game. More like A-AA. I don't think it will sell well at all because of all of the superhero/licensed games coming out around that time. Brutal Legendwill probablybe AA at least and do very well sales wise with EA's marketing.

Heavy Rain. Could potentially be my game of this generation if it lives up to its promises but you know its going to flop at retail.

Not everything needs to come down to score.Take GTA4 for example.It scored a perfect 10 on gamespot but alot of people thought it was the worst gta game because it was too story driven unlike the other GTAs.Infamous might score better than crackdown but that dosent change the fact that alot of people(me included) loved crackdown.InfiniteRespawn

If those games turn out to be AAA titles who cares how much they sell? I'm not associated with any of those businesses so yea I'll continue to just worry about the quality of the games.

Yep back then I use to have a list of games in my Sig and since most were multiplat I would get ragged on all the time but NOW those same people are mainly just hyping multi's....sad in deed.

IDK but the biggest games of this year are: God of War 3 Forza 3 Halo: ODST Dead Rising 2 Lost Planet 2 GT5 (If released) FFXIII (if released) There you have it! The best and best-selling games of 09!-RocBoys9489-

Compared to the rest of that list Lost Planet and Dead Rising have no right to be there...most people would be happy just to see those games at least get AA status.

Well when they've had the most AAA and AA titles released in the past 6 months why would they?

i'm sort of the opposite on Infamous. I think the game will sell better than it scores. I predict a low AA score but wouldn't be shocked if it sold 1 mill copies
