*Flame Shield---ACTIVATE!*

Ok, before I begin, let me just say that I love Zelda alot. I have been playing Zelda since the NES days and loved everythig about it. But I just wanna ask, since people are always making jokes about Final Fantasy MCXVIII or Mario Jump Rope Party Karts 26, how come no one says anything about Zelda? I love the games and all, but its been the SAME THING for over a decade now. How many times do you have to kill Ganondorf, before he actually dies? How many Links are there? How come a Link and Princess Zelda ALWAYS seem to coexist in the same time period? I dunno if im alone in this request, but I would really love if Zelda changed its root a lil bit. Sure in TP it was a lil different with a different boss, even though *POSSIBLE SPOILER* Ganadorf was still the last boss *SPOILER OVER* Sure in Mario its the same deal with him saving the princess, but atleast he has other entries (other than SSB) that have him doing other things, and in some cases having him team up with bowser.

And as for Zelda's gameplay...I know every now and then it gets a modification here and there, and the controls may change a bit (havent played Zelda:PHG yet) but how come Gamespot doesnt rate it alot lower for being uninnovative. Seriously speaking, except for a few things here and there, Zelda is exactly they same as it was on the N64. I think its time they tried to add a lil more to the game. If you ask me, its getting a lil lazy, I'll try to buy Phantom Hourglass ASAP and see if its a big change, but going by the console iterations, Zelda is getting just as bad as Super Mario Sunshine Galaxy World Party 3.

Zelda is a great series... One of the reasons I love them so much is the storyline. Each one is connected, and has some point of the timeline, but you never know where it exactly is, so the mystery is the fun part.

If you want something new, I recommend PH for the DS. It's a great game, the storyline continues off WW, so no there is no Ganondorf to defeat. Also, the King of Evil (Ganon) isn't ALWAYS in the game, but in a major point of the storyline he is there or someone revives him. That part makes sense in the games that he's in...

If you want something new in the gameplay side, PH has done some differences that are refreshing to the series. Even the puzzles take use of the DS's unique features.

I'm sure Wii Zelda will be something different too, but who knows.

Hmmmm.

Ok i think every zelda is different from each other in some way. Majoras Mask is nothing like OOT or A link to the past.

OOT was A Link to the Past in 3D(i think most can see that).

Wind Waker was a direct sequal to OOT. Ganondorf came back and all that stuff makes sense.

Oracle of Seasons/ages, minish cap, and PH all different games. Yes PH is a sequal to Wind Waker but alot of new extras.

Also MM played different from OOT. So did WW. Yes it was similar. But the sailing aspect was different, the puzzles were different, the boss fights were unique.

THis all the stuff TP did wrong.

It wasnt unique in anyway unlike previous zeldas.

Stop bashing the good ones that actually were different from each other by keeping the old charm with a mix of new charm to make it its own stand alone Zelda.

TP was all old stuff, just refined and perfected with a new story that really disapointed.

Sorry i think the other zeldas were far superior and dont deserve the knock your giving them. TP deserved it big time. WOuld i give the game a 9 yes. But i expect more than a 9 from zelda.

Yes, I would like the series to be revamped, but it's still a great series to play as it is.

lol, zelda isthe greatest series of all time. period. howver, it unmistakably needs a series overhaul due to it using the same amazing formula over and over again. nintendo is well aware that the series needs to change, and in an interview about TP and future zelda, aonuma stated that TP was the last zelda of its sort (console zelda at least, not handheld) and they would change the series after it. simple enough

Zeldas are usually 100 years after each other. Except for in OoT/MM and WW/PH's case.

When you look at TP, by itself, it may be the best game like, EVER.

When you realize its similarites to the past Zeldas, it isn't as spectacular.

TP was so refined and perfected. It's the kind of excellence in gaming code and game pacing that the other Zeldas have been known for and loved for. It's just that we are expecting it now.

I agree

but the inherent flaw with the argument is that sheep are, almost by definition, consumed by sentimentality. Because of that, they don't want change, no matter how sorely needed it may be.

If it aint broke, don't fix it. You have to admit, TP was actually quite different, with the wolf, and some unusual items. Maybe not as different as Majora's Mask, but still had variations. However, the concept of a more futuristic Zelda game is one of my greatest desires.

uh no it wasnt. The wolf thin yes. but everything else was so not ZELDA GREATNESS.

IT was the old zeldas perfected. WW, MM, OOT, and ALTTP seperated themselves from each other.

TP doesnt do that. In fact it can be directly compared to OOT. Nintendo tried to listen to the idiots who wanted another OOT and stoped making a truly amazing zelda like Majoras Mask and Wind Waker. and settled for a not broken so dont fix it zelda.

Thats not why i like zelda games, i love them because each zelda had its own charm, its own uniqueness to it. TP didnt do that very well IMO

In every generation there is a representative for the triforce of power(gannon), courage (link) and wisdom (ZELDA)

This is the way the goddeses in the game designed it. by the way did you play majoras mask? that had npn of the things you mentioned above.

yeah I kno if it aint broke dont fix it, but when you have something for years, it will break soon enough.

tp was amazing, but the gameplay have eveolved to wat it vould have, and the story is still the samelink hobbies, of go fetch some parts, go fetch some other parts and then beat ganon. I need something new, prince of persia came close to wat Iw as looking for in a zelda game but fell short on exloration. :(

but yeah a zelda in the future is like omg the best game ever.

too bad ninty is too close to their ip to change it too much.

I think so. It's going to take a little more than a controller gimmick to convince me otherwise. I don't really see any other groups STILL excited about the new entries of franchises we were playing in 1985.

yeah i've played majora's mask. The one with the moon that is about to destory earth, and the whole game takes place within 3days (was it? not sure) and you gotta keep going back in time. Yeah that game was pretty cool, and i think they handled the whole time traveling aspect very well. I think Zelda: MMwas a step in the right direction, but i want a lil more. I know i may be asking for too much, but these days im not nearly as hyped about Zelda games as i was back in the days.
