OK, I got AC yesterday, and I've probably played around 6-7 hours as of now. The game has some really great ideas and elements, but it's unfortunate that the game is a bit repeptitive and confusing (in terms of the storyline). The cutscenes are boring, and unneccisarily long as well. And, the game moves sllowwwllyyy. It's super slow at the beginning, so I was hoping that it would speed up a bit as the game progressed, but no--it's still moving at that utterly slow pace. The game has potential, but it just didn't exactly use it in the right way. Does anyone agree with me?biggamerhk
I can understand the cmplaint about it being repetitive, because you're doing a *job* and jobs do get that way.
The cutscenes are amazing, and the storyline I find very intriguing and impressive, not sure why anyone wouldn't.
I really like it, but I dont really see how it got a 9.0.
If Ratchet got docked for "borrowing from too many games" so should AC.
Stealth - MGS/Splinter Cell
The horse Riding- SoTC.
Combat/Acrobatics - Prince of Persia
Combat/Exploration - Zelda
Open Ended World Exploration - Crackdown
(Yes, I just totally stole this from the 1up show :P)
I've played the game for maybe a couple hours, and think it's pretty good. I admit it is slightly repetative at times, but I still haven't gotten over the initial wow-factor of approaching someone from behind and taking them out low-profile style.
We'll see what happens as I get a little further into the game. Hopefully it will earn the 9.0 I so dearly want to give it.

I think Ratchet and Clank got docked for too many elements with no clear definition nor reason for each, in such a short amount of time. It's what I got from the review.
[QUOTE="Footballteen58"]Hi I'm not going to put in spoiler tabs in the part where I talk about the story, so I'm going to spoil the game for everyone who's playing or wants to play the game.Gunraidan
Wth are you talking about? I didnt spoil the game in anyway. UBISOFT SAID there was going to be a sci fi twist so people know about it I didn't say at all what it was.
And for the record its not much of a spoiler as you find out in the first 5 minutes you start the game.
One of the best this year, fact! Live it and love it, haters. :DBioShockOwnzAgreed... *I hate reposting this 6 times, but people have yet to truly understand what the game has accomplished* You can use 3 buttons for combat... Plus all the types of counters, combos, defense breaks, dodging, parrying At least they didn't sink to other games buy putting in button pressing sequences (ala Resident Evil/God of War) Really your in the crusader times... how many more different kinds of moves are there that you cant do already? For everyone complaining about combat of Sandbox games... look at GTA and Crackdown oh what? Thats one button as well? Oh wait.. you can only shoot a gun/swing a melee weapon? Is there any depth to the system? For you guys complaining about the AI of the game, yea it isn't perfect and since it isn't XBL enabled your not gonna get a patch, but at this moment it is the best AI for the Sandbox genre. For those of you that have just played the beginning and are judging the AI pre the first 5 assassinations please finish the game... the guards get much more suspicious/harder when the game goes on. After the 5th assassination even the story tells you that the guards are about to get a LOT harder. If you don't counter you don't stand a chance when your fighting 10 enemies. Most of you haters gamercards shown that you have completed only half the game if even that. Please finish the game, not 1000/1000 but at least to the end. AsC has done a lot for the Sandbox Genre and if GTA4 doesnt pass the landmarks posted by it I don't see it getting a higher score than AsC.

My best analogy for the game is one i used when the game first came out. I believe the feeling i get from playing AC is that an Assassin has snuck into my house and killed any possible fun that could be enjoyed from a game like this. And on his way out he is whistling a little tune as he cheerfully leaves money in hand for a job well done.

Your job excuse is one of the lamest I have ever seen leveled at a video game. Games are made to be fun and that was definitely their goal with Assassin's Creed. Unfortunate for them, they failed.
i agree that the game is quite repetitive
it doesn't like up to its potential, but there's still a lot to like about the game
i hope we get a sequel some day, because they can make an amazing game with the ideas they have, if they're just implemented a bit better
it was still worth the purchase for me though
