every football fan should know 2k5 was the best.....better animations better tackles not so glitched out.......i still wish EA didnt have the nfl license so they could have continued making 2k football games.......i stopped played madden after 07 because they are all the same...stereointegrity
The other funny thing was how EA started copying features from NFL 2K5 and then acted like they invented them...
It's always been better. I think people rememeber NFL 2K5 far better than it actually was. I think either nostalgia or anger fuel the Madden haters who were upset at losing choice which I do think is a valid point. I personally never really liked the 2K footballs and I had a Dreamcast imagine my anger 8)
haha, well even THEY know it's true. ESPN 2k5 is the best football sim I've ever played. Such a great game. The only problem is I have a PS2 and I don't have the resources to get updated rosters...In other words, they are admitting NFL 2 K5 is still a better NFL game then the last 5 years of Madden...

The only thing I didn't like was the commentary. They could have used the ESPN commentaters instead of the 2 no names they used. Otherwise, there are elements in the game that Madden still is copying to date.

 so true!! Have you seen the new features that they added this year?? 2k5's presentation is STILL better, i just bought 2k5 again the other day and updated the rosters on 360 so i could compare them. and aside from the graphics (i can be a graphics whore at times:P) 2k5 is better hands down. its sad really [QUOTE="W1NGMAN-"]That was a major problem. Both the defensive and offensive lines were so breakable. Sacks were so easy.I still feel Madden 05 was the better game, I just felt NFL 2K5 lacked a solid defensive setup.

Yea some people online just got really good at exploiting certain things in the game that just made it impossible to stop them.
Eww, Bud Light.NFL 2K5 is STILL the best football game out there, real NFL fans know this... The day EA's NFL liscense runs out is the day i'll down a 24 pack of BUD LIGHT! :D

Oh and to the Madden fans... off our backs. We just want competition with in this genre so we can see the best brought out by both. Madden can make crappy football games (which imo they do) for the next five years and our only option would be not to play it. That sux for NFL fans. Imagine if they had the license for NBA games and all we had to play was Live *shutters* Madden isn't as bad but I still would rather their be an optional NFL game not made by EA.
when will EAs license run out?

Recently extended til 2013, although a California judge recently decided that a Class action lawsuit from gamers in California and D.C. could go to trial that COULD change that. Basically, the suit alledges that EA's used the monopoly on the NFL to the detriment of the consumer with blatantly anti-competitive practices (and I think most would agree they have). It's a Hail Mary, no doubt, but it's the best shot anyone has of adjusting the current situation anytime soon.
