That's amazing in my oppinion, 30 or so games all selling over 1million copies. Strikers is the lowest selling with 1.06million.braydee1234Yea thats happens pretty easily when most of the games Nintendo owners have to look foward too are 1st party games due to lack of 3rd party support.

As I can remember it, all Nintendo console had fantastic 3rd party games that were exclusives. I can't complain.
I bet the virtual boy game didn't sell 1 million. Or was that Wario? Who knows?donalbaneI believe it was Super Wario World and it was a fun game, it would have been a great success had it not been on Nintendo's only failing system.

Wario Land, actually, but your right, it is a fun game.

I think a lot of people confuse the issue when it comes to people buying a LOT of 1st party Nintendo games. A lot of 3rd party games that are released on almost any system tend to be crap. Look at the PS2. A LOT of 3rd party support but a LOT of crap at the same time. Still the more crap that is released the more likely you are to get some good as it will really stand out and then sequel upon sequel to it will be made. The thing here I think is unlike other consoles Nintendo has the strongest 1st party support. Sure they produce a lemon once in a while but majority of the time their releases are great and of high quality and straight up fun. It's no wonder after all of these years Nintendo titles (1st and 2nd party) get bought first before any 3rd party software. It isn't because of lack of support I don't believe. That might have some part of it but it isn't a main issue as some like to make it seems.
I think the main problem is that Nintendo is just to good in what it does game wise and as a result sets a bar to high to a degree. Developers on their system as a result get the short end as they have to reach that bar. It doesn't help that Nintendo has actually branched out into many different genres either. This is good I think in a way that it makes developers realize they can't just half ass things and expect them to be bought at the same price as other games that are great and fun. It's kinda the blessing and curse of having a strong 1st and 2nd party list of games. I'm sure the same happen to the PS2 and PS1 as well however due to them having a larger market share chances are those crap games got bought anyway based on number of buyers. I'd rather have quality choices then quanity to be honest, at least I know what I'm buying is worth the money and time.
In another thread someone suggest that perhaps Nintendo endorse certain games so buyersÂ
pay more attention to them. Wouldn't be a bad idea I think but can only imagine the problems
other 3rd party developers that don't get endorse would have and raise. Then again maybe
it's a kick in the ass some developers need if some of their games don't get the pat on
the back.Â
Wow...that's slightly upsetting. No wonder they keep making sub par spin-offs.Articuno76Nintendo does not make most of the spin off they are done by 3rd Party companies that pay to use Mario.....Like the Mario Party, Mario DDR, Mario Golf none are made by Nintendo....But calling Mario games Sub par shows how little you know about Nintendo
Wow...that's slightly upsetting. No wonder they keep making sub par spin-offs.Articuno76how many non-mario party console games have gotten bellow AA. The answer is not many. thats reeaaaal sub-par.

Nintendo pretends that the Virtual Boy never existed? Why do they still have it on their website, then?
Hotel Mario wasn't developed or published by Nintendo. It's a bad relic of the Phillips deal, much like Faces of Evil or Wand of Gamelon. Consider it retroactively deleted, much like Highlander 2.
Mario Clash is pretty mediocre. But Mario Tennis on Virtual Boy was awesome. It was so good that you'd grit your teeth and play through the pain of your bleeding eyes.
