Those are amazing!  I haven't played an air combat game in a while, but I'm definitely going to check this one out.

OK, LETS compare the pics

The AC5 pics don't show any material properties of the plane surfaces, over all dull and flat, nothing that shows real metal in the environment. The AC6 pics show sun glares off the surface, metallic sheen, ambient color lighting, everything to indicate real metallic structures visually affected by the environment. With much more detail in the seams and other minute components of the plane structures. You fail.

why can't we be excited, I've always been curious about the Ace Combat series, but I have never owned a PS, no I actually have the opportunity to try it, honestly I can't wait.

I care about it because, prior to this week, it wasn't slated for the 360 so it wasn't on my radar.  I loved AC for my PS2 and was always disappointed with the flying games on the old Xbox.  The gameplay in AC is much more exciting than that in Over G Fighters, by far.  Throw in multiplayer over Live, and AC6 is going to rock.

Microsoft Flight Sim incorporates highly complex flight physics, taking into consideration the various forces and elements of aerodynamics (gravity, wind shear, velocity) that affects a planes flight path. In reality, an error in how you adjust your course can have you spinning out of control, maneuveringing a plane is not as easy, turn left, turn right, increase altitude, decrease altitude. With FlightSim series, you have to make adjustmensts to engine power, the angle of the trim (those moving panels on the wing and tail) and other things to maintain a level flight path, it doesn't just happen on its own.

Games like Crimson Skies and AC series has nowhere near that level of complexity of flight control or the physics of aerodynamics which you have to compensate for, your plane will pretty much remain on its course until you turn and such. If AC or CS was as real as Flight Sim, you'd be crashing more often than taking down your enemies. REAL FLIGHT is a challenge and not like driving a car.
