well both fail compare to old fashion skill points (which took skill) but just wondering have trophies or achievements changed the way you game. Will you any buy games that have them or do you buy bad games just to get them.

Achievements take skill,Trophies don't..I only have 5000 GS..And 45 trophiesMikeTyson984326Wait. That makes no Sense, their the same exact thing. If A multiplat game comes out, the Achievements take more skill?. because last time I checked they were all pretty similar

LMAO, if it's multiplat then the trophies and achievements are exactly the same, if it's exclusive, then it doesn't matter because they are tailored to the game.
Seriously
Achievements take skill,Trophies don't..I only have 5000 GS..And 45 trophiesMikeTyson984326
They're basically the same thing though, except one has a point value to it.

They're the exact same thing. :|
I usually get as many as I can but I don't buy games especially for trophies/achievements. That's just lunacy.Floppy_JimYeah, same here. There's that Avatar game in which you can get 1000 GS in 10 minutes or something like that. I wonder how much people rented it just for that :?
Achievements take skill,Trophies don't..I only have 5000 GS..And 45 trophiesMikeTyson984326That makes no sense at all. They're the same thing. As for the OP, they're fun to get, but I can live without them.
Achievements take skill,Trophies don't..I only have 5000 GS..And 45 trophiesMikeTyson984326:lol: someone sig this.

LMAO THIS IS SIG WORTHY!! Wow!!:lol:
I usually get as many as I can but I don't buy games especially for trophies/achievements. That's just lunacy.Floppy_Jimi do exactly this, once i get through a game once and i don't feel like a second playthrough, i will never play it again just to finish off the achievements. If it's amazing, and i want to play it again, i might take a bit of time to get some achievements/trophys.

Trophies are not a factor at all for my gaming purchases... I just bought Spiderman WoS and it doesn't have trophies (I think it doesn't but who cares really?), so yeah not a factor.
HOwever, I always try to get most things out of my games, so when a game has them, I try to get them all...and I'm saying "try" cuzin some cases it´s just impossiblefor me (Damn you SFIV)
They definitely change the way I play. I play plenty of games without trophies (ps2, ps1,older ps3 games, my n64) and it has in no way ruined anything for me, but I do try to get them sometimes. For me, trophies/achievements add replay value to games that I might otherwise not go back to. Cleverly designed trophies can also encourage you to play a game differently than you normally would and open you to new experiences. They motivate me to complete games rather than just try them out.
The people who went out and rented avatar for 360 just to get a quick thousand G are missing the point I believe:P

Make a sig with that nerdy kid, the one with the mouth open, braces and the glasses. That quote would be perfect for that picture.
If I get them, cool, if not, whatever.rockguy92
Pretty much.
They're not anywhere close to being a deal-breaker for me.
I made a thread on this a while back giving examples and featuring a Poll if your really interested look it up it got a fair amount of replys and answers to the question you pose. Both our Posts combined will give you a picture.
On a side note i belive some posters lie i have caught someone who said they didnt buy games for points actually stating they brought a game for points! Im not sure if i pointed it out but i loled.

lmao thanks dude :D
I like achievements and tropies, but I don't play just for the points. The only game I dedicated my time to getting 1000 GS is Halo 3 (which took a gooooood while) and I could have Left 4 Dead 1000 GS but will not stoop to the level of playing the game on easy mode just to get my last four acheivements. Also, I am working on the platinum trophy for Uncharted, but really only those three games have kept me going for acheivements.

hahahahahahahahha this guy si funny. getting 5000 gamerscore mean u at LEAST finished 5 complete games on the 360. while getting 45 trophies mean u could barely finish 1 game on the ps3. from ur gamerscore i can tell u cant barely get any trophies while achivments looks easy for u
Nonsense. Guess it dosn't take skill to get the big momma badge in MGS4(beat the game without being spotted, no using rations, no killing people, no dying, on the highest difficulty) OMGWTFBBQ in Resistance 2(beat the game on highest difficulty), Rank #1 in the world in GRAW, or Beat Ninja gaiden 2 on master ninjawell both fail compare to old fashion skill points (which took skill) but just wondering have trophies or achievements changed the way you game. Same but I have to admit I did buy Super Star Dust just for the trophies since well it was the only game that had any at the time....I ended up loving the game which I was pleasantly surprised.
I won't buy games at full price for trophies, but if they are on sale (cheap) and they have some easy trophies all the better.
I am also more likely to buy a full priced game if it has good trophies, because I feel like I get more out of the game. That said I do buy games that don't have trophies...
I ****ing hate achievements and trophies :P. I just play the old fashioned way and don't go out of my way to get these meaningless things :X.
You want to know what is worse. If you go to: http://ps3trophycard.com/ it lists the top 10 highest trophy earners worldwide. It shows rank in the world, trophy level, point total(yes trophies are worth points too..each bronze, silver, gold and plat have a point valule), and the amount of each trophy class and you can see the indinvidual trophies by game. If you look at some of the top rankers they are acually going out and renting (or I hope not buying) freaking Hannah Montana movie game, just to get the platinum trophy for it. Hannah montana, I am sure the #2 ranking trophy earner in the world isn't some chick with the name killerxxx... Hannah montana platinum...yeah that's something to be proud of.... then I seen people going and getting japanese games (don't know how they do that becasue don't you need a japanese credit card so you can pay in yen? It seems that's a lot of effort just for trophies. They definitely change the way I play. I try to get them on my second or third playthrough of games. When I play a game the first time I play it for enjoyment and story and stuff, but once the fun has dried up, I go for achievements, for instance I went back to Skate 2 yesterday to try and beat the game 100%
Achievements take skill,Trophies don't..I only have 5000 GS..And 45 trophiesMikeTyson984326
sigworthy :O
GS is just a number really i dont get why anyone would collect them in a serious manner
I like trophies I am a self professed trophy whore but I will never ever buy much less play a bad game because of trophies. No way no how.
I constantly see people playing ski-do and hannah montana just for the trophies, I had a decision whether to take weeks to boost xp in FEAR2 and get a plat. trophy instead of playing games I actually enjoyed. Needless to say FEAR2 is off in the mail right now back to gamefly.
That being said, I have played an 6-7 game for trophies butit (QoS) was actually really fun and I had more fun in the MP then COD5.
They are the same thing and are cool additions but personally I like it more when a trophy comes up when playing the game instead of numbers ;)
Trophies (or achievements) add replayability and life to your hard earned games . I played dead space 4 times and Uncharted 4 times, something that never happened in the past with me . Done was done . And you know what, I really enjoyed played them 4 times .
Although I'm a trophy addict, I won't buy Hannah montana or other lame games just for a platinum ....but I will get those 10000 kills in Resistance 2...eventually ...
