A recap/PAX East thread collecting all that new, recent information from Assassins Creed 3 thats been leaking. Its rumored that Ubisoft Montreal will unveiled the world's 1st gameplay video of Assassins Creed III at PAX East, Be sure to check this thread to see it!

Now a recap for those who have missed out on the opportunity to see what's been leaked so far.

Below, is a new leaked video showcasing in-game, gameplay pics that leaked a while ago demonstrating some of the yet to be unveiled gameplay mechanics

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLapQf1VTS

Leaked HD Pictures so far

March 2 (Initial Details)

-- The hero is named Connor/Ratohnhake:ton (pronounced Ra-doon-ha-gay-doo). He's half English and half Mohawk Indian. You will experience Connor's childhood on the frontier. The Mohawk clash with white colonists who burn their village down, causing Connor to dedicate his life to confronting tyranny and injustice. The overall story is still centered around the Assassins versus the Templars and Connor's journey.-

- The game is set between the years 1753-1783 around Boston and New York. You'll meet George Washington -- one of the game's main characters -- as well as Ben Franklin, who is apparently not a "convenient inventor" like da Vinci in past Assassin's Creed games. Another main character is the mysterious Charles Lee. We don't know anything about him at all.

- Here are some of the events we can expect: "You will see the great fire of New York. You will visit Valley Forge as a location that is currently occupied by Washington's forces. You will visit these places in the moment that they were important."

- A lot of the actual gameplay centers on The Frontier, a huge area of wilderness that is 1.5 times bigger than all of Assassin's Creed:Brotherhood. When in the frontier, you'll meet up with all kinds of gameplay elements, including hunting and pelt gathering (shades of Red Dead Redemption), and villages -- Colonial and Native American alike. The wilderness traversal plays a big part in the gameplay in the Frontier. You use trees, cliffs, ledges, and more to set up kills and combat. Connor does have a hidden blade.

- The city scenes are more detailed than previous Assassin's Creed games, with full crowds of people doing different, mundane tasks, and the city seeming to react to players' actions.

Here are some nitty-gritty gameplay details:

Leveling System:

"Imagine a leveling system in an RPG, except there's a finite amount of XP to find. The more in-sync you get, the more you fill your sync bar. Within each mission, each activity you complete has a value". You can replay everything to increase your score.

There is reportedly something resembling the Brotherhood system of picking up fellow assassins. Aligned groups are gone, but something new is replacing them in regards to factions. There's a new notoriety system that is more hidden and doesn't penalize you for exploring risky areas. The game has fast travel because the game has more traveling. It's a huge map.

Multiplayer:No word yet on the multiplayer.

March 22 (First wave of info)

-- New enemy types include agile native american foes and burly Scottish men

- The plot covers 35 years of Connors life

- There's no more target locking. Counter/defense are the same button to prevent defensive turtling

- Connors goal in the plot is to save his people and to give his people a place in the future of america.

- A new feature ubisoft is calling stalking zones in where connor can slink into bushes and can move through the foliage, the player can manoeuvre himself around the assassination target and go in for the kill.

- There will be snow patrol of mainly redcoats in horse carriages throughout the frontier.

- Adding on to the snow weather, theres also be rain and fog

- Enemies are also carrying axes( Scotsmen)

- Combat has been completely overhauled allowing the player to assign a weapon in each hand and will alternate the press of the X and Y buttons.

- A new Chinese inspired weapon called the rope dart allows you to string your enemies up like poultry.

- The controls for free running have been simplified that remove the need to hold separate buttons during free running, the A button is drafted in for specific verticle climbing.

- 30 percentage of the missions take place in the frontier

- Frenchman Lafayette is in the game.

- Holding A with RT is now for climbing upwards.

- Citizens have individual roles and routines in the cities.

- 3:1 is the scale of Boston compared to the real city

- The narrative scope of assassins creed 3 is 20% larger than AC2

- The percentage of spoken characters in the game that are based on real historical people is 80%.

- Rope dart, you can throw it down from a tree oil a guard, reel it in use it again.

- There wll be kiddies and dogs in the cities.

- You can't take medicine during a fight you need to escape and rest.

- QUOTE: " assassins creed 3 is all but to renew your faith in the series".

(Taken from OXM and a few from OPM. Their both latest issues)

March 24 (2nd wave with more info!)

-- The game will allow you to canoe.

- You will be able to dual wield pistols and one handed melee (such as the axe)

- One of the Guilds will be 'Gremio Los Sombres', or The Guild of Shadows

- The main countryside area between Boston and New York (which will both be explorable) is known as Frontier

- Frontier will be abotu 1.5 times the size of Rome, and be filled with things to do - it wont be empty like the countryside in AC1.

- New movements have required a completely new animation engine and thousands of new animations. You will be able to slide under objects, over wagons and climb trees

- New weapons include tomahawks, throwing axes, bow and arrows, and flintlock pistols.

- The animus will be updated, and allow you to replay missions from checkpoints.

- Getting 100% synch won't require you to do one specific thing now. It will allow you to pick and choose certain ways of playing, which collaboratively make your synch better.

- There will be greater rewards for getting 100% synch.

- Hunting and fishing will be part of the game. The greater rewards will come from the amount of attempts and the length of time it takes to kill animals, and you will be able to skin pelts, slice meat, etc.

- Medicine will not be able to be used in combat.

- The Assassins Tombs will be making a reappearance.

- You will be able to purchase property

- Enemies and the world will be changed by environmental situations. Enemies will have a lot more context sensitive snimations and dialogue.

- The world will have seasons. Lakes will freeze through winter, trees shed leaves over autumn etc

- The new engine is a huge upgrade upon the previous titles. It will allow far more enemies on screen at one time - internal tests have shown almost a thousand on screen.

- There will be multiple factions to work with you, and you will even be able to turn enemies into allies.

- Human shields and interrogation are in the game.

- Benjamin Franklin will be the new Da Vinci and will provide inventions for certain missions

March 25 (3rd wave with leaked info from a russian website)

~Linky~

I Google-translated it to try and make up what it said, here's my best shot :P (Russian bilangual speakers wanted btw :P)

--Hidden blade rotates now is not fixed and can be used as a dagger (removable hidden blade :o).

-In the inventory of the hero will lasso, but it is unknown how it will be used.

-When Connor is sneaking through the tall grass or bushes, it automatically stealths.

-We can safely be used as a means of moving timber rafting and jump from one timber to another. (means we can freerunn on things floating in the water.)

-Confirmed by sliding under obstacles and hiding behind barricades.

-No painkillers or drugs (aka medicines) will not be in the game. This should spur the players to constant attacks, instead of endless battle to regenerate health using the same drugs (medicines -_-).

-Ubisoft once again stresses that Connor will not support the Americans or the British in full.

-City: There will be an opportunity to climb towers, buildings, houses, but because of the lack of any significant historical sites in a given period of time, the study of the city in this respect is somewhat limited as compared with the previous games of the series. Instead, the player will be able to go into most homes, which will also help to hide from the guards.

-The city lives its own life, so Connor needs to interact with it to the maximum. For example, to avoid detection, he would be able to stand and repeat the movement of street artists, while not posing. (still unclear as to what the eff this is folks )

-Citizens have become more alive, each with its own character and behavior, which gives more options for their reactions to what is happening around them, etc.
-Animals in the game carries many dangers (will attack you).

-The soldiers, drummers will be able to tell the other soldiers about the dangers, so it is advisable to remove them in the first place.

-On you can attack like a pack of wolves, and an angry bear.

-Weather: The snow will slow down your movement, the movement of enemies and animals, and fog - to reduce the distance of the review, the wind is nowable to operate on certain objects, and the ice will give you access to inaccessible areas.

-Part of the mission will take place at the frontier

-We will visit the cities such as Lexington and Concord.

-The game has a hidden relic (which most likely will have to collect).

-Some animals can hunt down, sneak up on them or make their marks in the trap.

-If you join a hunting club, you will unlock new areas and side quests.

-Present "caravans", which can attack either openly or secretly, to get the enemy equipment.

-Little is known about Desmond, but his role is now much more important than ever before.

-The system clock back 100%, but for hundreds of treasured not have to replay the entire mission again. Now, during the tasks using the control points, which are supposed to pass a separate award.

Now for the Collecturz Edeeshion leaked (Join Or Die Edition)!

Source: http://www.xboxgamezone.co.uk/2012/0...ck-up-spotted/

As you can observe, this Collector's Edition gives a lil depth to how the MP skins will look like this time (but I can't help but notice the resemblence to John Marston! )

It is being speculated that Ubi Monty will reveal gameplay at PAX East from April 6th -8th. Stay tuned.

The New Freedom Edition has been announced!

This is a supreme Special Edition packet that contains everything from the first Join Or Die Edition. (....almost everything :P)

Assassin's Creed 3: First look demo - everything you need to know

An early look at Ubisoft's ambitious sequel...

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/341470/previews/assassins-creed-3-first-look-demo-everything-you-need-to-know/?page=3

March 26 (4th wave with info from CVG/other sources)

-- Connor has a feature called "Reflex Fire"which he can use to hip fire weapons. If you need to focus (like you do with the Hidden Gun in previous games) then you can as well.

- Apparently the leaps of faith are more interactive, like you can jump onto moving carts with hay on them and assassinate your target without going through all the guards first

- There is a new sprinting system also, so you can hold the button to instantly turn around and start fleeing from combat. They also let you kill people while still moving so you can keep chasing a target.

- There's a new dynamic camera to track the action and make it look as cinematic as possible

- There are lots of secondary attacks like the one shot pistol on the Y button

- The tomahawk and knife are a "constant presence" in battle. They let you do double counters and multiple takedowns, as well as chain kills

- Connor is now able to take cover using the environment (in this case boulders) to avoid danger

- Its confirmed that there will be over 30 Animal species in the game

- Besides the well known fact that Animals can be hunted down to gather pelts and meat, Director Francois made a point of telling the audience during the demo that Ubisoft had come up with this idea long before it appeared Red Dead Redemption. But there are a few differences. Unlike Rockstar's game, the value of materials is affected by how you will kill your prey. If you kill a deer with a musket riffle, its pelt will be damaged, and it'll loose some its value. But if you use the blade to perform a "claean kill" the skin will be wrth a lot more.

- A New, minimalist HUD has been added to the game. The top of the screen is now entirely "menu-free" while health and ammo counts are incorporated in the mini map and weapon icons, respectively, like GTA

- In the demo, the audience was utterly wowed at how the city was teeming with life. And we're stunned at how the NPC's interact with Connor as he passes by. The term "living, breathing world" is is seriously overused by developers of Open World games....but in this case....its warranted.

- You'll run into on-the-spot micro quests, such as choosing whether or not to pursue someone who's stolen apples from a street vendor.

- Rock-climbing will be available in ACIII and a lot less restrictive.

New Hands-on Demo details available on CVG. G4 is doing a preview of Assassins Creed 3, updated the OP.

More stuff to come. But check these out. The demo sounds amazing :o:

Assassin's Creed 3: First look demo - everything you need to know

An early look at Ubisoft's ambitious sequel...

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/341470/previews/assassins-creed-3-first-look-demo-everything-you-need-to-know/?page=3

"Developer Tommy François is controlling our hands-off demo - running in real-time on PS3 - and he spins the camera around, showing off Connor's hyper-detailed character model.

Ubisoft Montreal's costume design has always been impeccable, and Assassin's Creed III is no different. Connor's military coat is pure 18th Century colonial chic, and colourful patterns on his bow and quiver hint at his Native American ancestry. We also notice a flintlock pistol tucked into a holster, and a tomahawk (shaped like the iconic Assassins symbol) hanging from his belt.

Connor begins to move through the forest, and the animation is stunning. He leaps between trees effortlessly, ducking under low-hanging branches, and edging through narrow gaps in the foliage. To reach higher ground, he'll sometimes leap from a tree to a nearby rock face and clamber up. Ubisoft hired professional climbers to make the animations as authentic as possible, and it shows.

François drops from the trees briefly to show us the new snow effects. Some areas are covered in a light powder that you can run through without any problems, but when it gets deeper, your movement is impaired. Connor slows down as he struggles through a waist-high drift, carving a trail behind him. It isn't just for show, either; you'll be able to follow footprints to hunt down assassination targets.

WILD BEASTS

It's always quicker to travel through the trees - and safer. As Connor treks through the snow, we hear an almighty roar. A black bear, twice his size, rears up and flashes its claws. It's about to come crashing down on Connor, but before it gets the chance, he flicks out his hidden blade and plunges it into the beast's heart, killing it.

The Frontier is crawling with wildlife. Animals can be hunted and harvested for resources, like meat and pelts. François made a point of telling us that Ubisoft had come up with this idea long before it appeared in Red Dead Redemption, and there are a few differences. Unlike Rockstar's game, the value of materials is affected by how you kill your prey. If you shoot a deer with a musket rifle, its pelt will be damaged, and it'll lose some of its value. But if you use a blade to perform a 'clean' kill, the skin will be worth a lot more.

With the bear dealt with, Connor continues through the forest. He approaches a sheer cliff and begins to climb. The way he reaches for outcrops and footholds to pull himself up looks impressively natural. When we reach the top, we're treated to a dazzling vista that stretches for miles. The view's made even more spectacular by the new, minimalist HUD; the top of the screen's now entirely menu-free, while health and ammo counts are incorporated into the mini-map and weapon icons respectively, GTA-****

François assures us that everything we see can be explored. In the distance we can make out a tall mountain, a winding river, what looks like a small town, and an endless sea of trees. It makes the rural sections of Assassin's Creed II look laughably tiny.

uddenly, the quiet ambience of the forest is interrupted by the sound of thundering drums and flutes. Below, a platoon of American soldiers are making their way down a dirt road, led by a marching band. At the back of the group, two soldiers pull a cart filled with hay - which can only mean one thing in an Assassin's Creed game.

Connor skips from the top of the cliff onto a nearby tree and positions himself above the convoy. When the cart passes, he dives into it. François tells us that these new moving 'leaps of faith' might look simple, but are incredibly difficult to program. Safely hidden in the hay, the camera pulls back and we see that the soldiers are marching towards the city of Boston. But just as we get a tantalising glimpse of the enormous city, the screen fades to black.

CROWD CONTROL

Assassin's Creed III takes place between the years 1753 and 1783, and the next part of our demo appears to be set several months after, or before, our trip through the snowy forest. We're in Boston, and it's the height of summer. This is our first glimpse of the AnvilNext engine's new crowd tech, which allows up to 2,000 characters to appear on screen at once. The city is teeming with life, and we're stunned by the way NPCs interact with Connor, and each other.

A salesman walks alongside us, excitedly hawking his wares, before giving up and wandering back to his stall. A dapper gentlemen saunters past, spinning his cane and whistling, and bids us good day. A lady drops a crate of apples, and a street urchin runs past and steals one. An inquisitve dog barks at us. This all happens in real-time as you walk through the city, and it's brilliantly immersive. The term 'living, breathing world' is seriously overused by developers of open world games, but in this case, it's warranted.

Connor's journey is interrupted when he stumbles into a checkpoint guarded by British soldiers. They immediately recognise him, and enter alert mode. Rather than stay and fight, Connor pushes through the guards and makes a run for it. He sprints down a wide street, leaping over market stalls, swinging on tree branches, and skipping across a moving horse and cart. He climbs a tall tree and swings on a branch towards a building. The window shutters swing open, and a woman shrieks in panic. Connor jumps through the window, rushes through the woman's house, and emerges on the other side. It's a thrilling, dynamic chase sequence, and from what we can tell, totally unscripted.

François tells us that the streets of Boston are historically accurate, but that some artistic liberties had to be taken for gameplay reasons. When they realised that Boston's main streets were huge and wide (unlike the winding streets of previous settings), they had to place trees in the middle to give players a way of crossing them without dropping to street level. When the chase is over, Connor climbs a church tower and we see the city in its entirety. In the distance, black smoke fills the sky; a reminder that we're in the midst of a brutal war.

WAR GAMES

After another fade to black, the final part of our demo begins. This time we're at Bunker Hill in 1775, in the thick of one of the American Revolution's most famous battles. Connor's mission is to assassinate a British general, which would be easy if he wasn't in a camp protected by 2,000 musket-wielding soldiers. Of everything we've seen in the demo so far, this is the most impressive, and the most unlike previous Assassin's Creed games. The scale of the battle is dizzying, and you really do feel like you're in the middle of a raging conflict.

Rather than skirt around the edges, Connor charges head-first into the battle. As the British and the Americans fire their muskets back and forth, he slips through the chaos, dodging cannon balls. He waits for the British to fire, then pushes forward while they reload, which takes a few seconds. In reality it took upwards of a minute to reload a musket, but François says they had to shorten it to make the sequence more fun. After a dangerous dash through the battlefield, Connor slips into the forest surrounding the enemy camp.

The detour into the forest is another chance to show off AC3's fantastic looking animation as Connor clambers and swings to mount a tree branch. A group of British soldiers approach and the next system we're given a glimpse of is the sequel's revamped combat (Ubisoft hints the game's controls have been totally overhauled).

Connor aims and fires into the first soldier's neck with a new toy, the Rope Dart, which does exactly what its name suggests. Grasping one end of the rope our protagonist drops down from the tree branch, brutally hoisting his target by the neck to hang him from his former perching spot. Our man then shows off another combat addition by grabbing a second soldier to hold him as a human shield - useful when armed guards only have a single shot from their near-impossible-to-reload muskets.

Another addition we're told about - but now shown - is a new cover system, including cover assassinations, and a redesigned weapon wheel and only two face buttons on screen (compared to four) hinting at further changes.

Connor makes quick work of the remaining guards and approaches the enemy camp. Whenever you move through foliage like shrubs or tall grass, Connor automatically crouches. Stealth in general has been vastly improved, and forest environments are full of opportunities to sneak.

Connor skulks through the undergrowth and come across our assassination targe. He's on horseback in the middle of the camp, waving his sword and ordering his troops around. Connor bursts out of the bushes, takes out two guards with his tomahawk, and leaps towards him. We cut to a slow-motion cinematic angle of him lunging at the startled general, face twisted with anger, bloody tomahawk primed, and... that's it. There's a final fade to black, and the demo ends.

Apparently the leaps of faith are more interactive, like you can jump onto moving carts with hay on them and assassinate your target without going through all the guards first

Connor has a feature called "Reflex Fire"which he can use to hip fire weapons. If you need to focus (like you do with the Hidden Gun in previous games) then you can as well.

One of the best Special Editions I've ever seen.Plus features a Lost Mayan Ruins mission that has me intrigued to know what its about. I'll pre-order it on Amazon as soon as its available there. Plus a Johnny Marston skin isn't so bad :P

How much is it? $150?

It doesn't chow getting medallion... http://www.psu.com/Assassins-Creed-III-collectors-editions-announced--a014805-p0.php First up is the Freedom Edition, which includes a copy of the hotly-anticipated stab-'em-up sequel, a 24-cm figurine of Connor, steelbook case, George Washington's notebook (which reveals details on the assassins and the Templars during the American Revolution), one Lithograph, two in-game missions (Lost Mayan Ruins and Ghost of War) and the Sharpshooter multiplayer pack.

Here is the full G4 Preview guys

I didn't post it before because they only created the web page for us to "stay tune" until they finished writing it.

http://www.g4tv.com/games/xbox-360/65904/assassins-creed-3/articles/76935/assassins-creed-3-preview-the-evolution-of-revolution/

We've had 2 Previews so far. G4 and CVG and their Hands-on Demo all which is all posted in my OP. I'm updating the OP with the latest details I found in both of these Previews and the Hands on demo as I read them.

Check back here in a few mins for a summarized section of what was recently released. I read awesome stuff like chasing sequences inside Boston's houses, rewards for killing animals in different ways and over 30 species of animals will be available in the game.

Good lord. This information sounds very promising.

Also, that Freedom Edition looks pretty awesome. I seriously hope it's not too expensive. But alas! Australian retailers have a habit of ripping us off.

If the Join or Die edition isn't too much extra, AND available for PC, I'll get it. Make it happen Ubi, I know you want my money. :)

This game is going to be brilliant. IDK if the PC version will get that CE so I may opt for the PS3 version. I use to say games looked like crap on my PS3 and TV, but I recently got glasses and I couldn't believe it. The damn games actually look really nice. It was an embarrassing, but awesome experience for myself :P.

I won't be buying the CE because I need all the money I can get for other games also, but this is probably my most hyped game this year (until more Halo 4 stuff is leaked anyway).
