We can't really talk too much about next generation console plans, but I think it's safe to say you have a Wii U coming out and there will be another new console coming and we expect that they'll be very successful.

Nothing was quoted from the conference call regarding next year, but I foresee another 360 happening. In other words an announcement and a late year release.

I would say the Nextbox but it seems like a bad time to launch it. Just released Halo4 and next year Gears will get a new release would make me wonder what big launch games it would have.

I suspect it's more likely to be MS than Sony.

And the PS3 has way too many exclusives releasing next year and I doubt the PS4 will have BC so that will only hinder the overall software sales of all those games.

xbox surface is a handheld tablet -- dont get confused people im sure ps4 will be it if any are released next year , i dont trust activision at all

Probably the 720. 2013 looks like the final rattling breath of death for the 360, ala the Wii.

Sony needs to be more worried about themselves financially rather than putting out another gaming console. Even their credit rating is just now lowered to one point above junk status.

what makes you think that the PS3 will keep selling after 2 next gen consoles are outs in the market? If the sales of the PS3 slows down and the PS4 launches late and fails to pick up steam I think Sony will be in real trouble. And when I say "real" I mean out of business literally.

Given Sony's track record, I don't doubt a blatant CTRL+C, CTRL+V for that controller. MS seems like they're going in a different direction with their SmartGlass functionality, allowing ANY touchscreen device to be used to interact with a game, thus I don't think they'll adopt it straight on like Sony would.

Oh yay a new xbox.. 10% halo, forza, gears. 5% timed exclusives. 85% Kinect shovelware. No really, I'm jumping for joy here.

I never said that the PS3 will keep selling; I'm just talking about Sony as a whole. At the rate that Sony themselves are going, either they'll have to pull a Nintendo like they did with the Wii, or they'll have no choice but to put PS4 on the backburner & drop out of the gaming division entirely.

Xbox 720 is definatly coming, there has been kits given for a while now, 343 said they are working on Halo 5 even

Witcher 2, Fable 2-3-Journey, Halo 3-4-Reach, Mass Effect 1, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon etc etc are all exclusives and some of the best games around

720 no doubt. I am really excited to see it, not because I care much about it (at the moment at least), but because I am wondering what the tech and such will be like in comparison to the WiiU. A lot of devs seem to be building engines that run on current consoles, but run to their full potential on PC and likely next gen consoles. So it is not inconceivable that PS4 and 720 share multiplats with WiiU, though WiiU would likely look worse. Who knows though!

I guess we shall see what the WiiU manages this winter and early next year because I have a feeling, if the WiiU isn't much of a sucess, Sony and Microsoft may give these current gen systems another year to try and maximise profitability. So by the WiiU having poor techinical power, it could really hurt nintendo because effectively, the PS3 and Xbox360 are almost the Wii's of the next gen.

Maybe the tablet will prove to be popular for gaming consoles, however I think having almost a purely focused tablet controller for gaming as the main controller is a big no-no. It should be a well developed extra.

I'll take PS4, as I'm loyal to Sony

Nextbox came out in 2005, known as the 360. I get what you are saying though since everyone is saying to quote them on it and predicting the exact same thing.

I remember buying two 360's that launch day, very excited. In fact, I dropped close to a few thousand, buying two Wifi adapters, many games, including my two purchases of Perfect Dark Zero.

That game ended up being awfully disappointing, but a year later I enjoyed GeoW1 which I bought two copies of to play with RL friends at BBQs.
