Thoughts? I personally found the Prototype games a lot of silly fun, so this saddens me.

Activisions deserves to be burned to the ground. We want Kotick's head!!!1

Activision has clarified that Radical Entertainment will significantly reduce its staff count and assume a support role on other Activision projects. It will no longer develop its own games going forward.
Great. Now we're gonna get two CoD a year and monthly DLC for each.
How do you know Prototype 2 didn't lose money? They spent alot advertising those commercials with the Johnny Cash song and I don't think the game sold much.Their not dead, but they may join the COD bandwagon.
This is another reason I hate activision because they don't care about creating new IP's unless they turn out to be another cod in sales

I'd actually like to see how that would turn up, for lulz.Activision has clarified that Radical Entertainment will significantly reduce its staff count and assume a support role on other Activision projects. It will no longer develop its own games going forward.

A CoD game every month, that would be even better. And perfectly possible because come on, you only need a free weekend for something like that.

Unless they had a 50+ million budget that game may have made some money.
Hopefully they make good dlc maps because Raven and especially slegehammer SUCKS

The saddest part is that Raven is, or at least was, far more talented than anyone else working on CoD and actually knew how to make an FPS.
and it will still sell like hot cake :PActivision has clarified that Radical Entertainment will significantly reduce its staff count and assume a support role on other Activision projects. It will no longer develop its own games going forward.

[QUOTE="ShadowDeathX"]Three studios developing full Call of Duty games. Now we have another three developing Call of Duty DLC.super600
If that many studios are most likely working on a part of the cod wouldn't that eventually dilute the franchise.
That's what people said when COD was announced a yearly franchise, and when MW2 came out. Personally, I am pretty sure the sales f the new COD will be much lower than others and its starting sales will not be the usual explosion.[QUOTE="super600"][QUOTE="ShadowDeathX"]Three studios developing full Call of Duty games. Didn't EA have like 5 studios work on Madden 2011 having people go around states and stuff and emulating real stadiums and motions? (Then failed.)Activision business these days depends a lot on CoD. Dunno if that is good or bad for them though. Miroku32
I would think at some point it would be bad. It just doesn't seem lke something that could keep growing forever, and once it starts to fall they are basically killing the idea of having a "diverse portfolio" of products to offer.

Only if Activision has the soul to sell off the franchise. Maybe to Nintendo or back to Naughty Dog. Maybe THQ would be interested in buying it since the creator is the CEO now. :D

When COD starts to slip, I imagine that we will see Activision shift to tons and tons of new IPs, basically throwing out darts until something hits. Then repeat whatever got the hit over and over until it stops working, then more darts.
Meanwhile, Blizzard keeps bring in money trucks so the company keeps afloat.

Naw they would just bring back the 500 Ips they abandoned and their fansbases and milk those instead.Activision has clarified that Radical Entertainment will significantly reduce its staff count and assume a support role on other Activision projects. That's not true but u were probably joking anyway.
Radical hasn't really been fantastic this gen anyway. Prototype is a good stepping stone but the sequel doesn't build upon it. Which is a shame seeing as the inferior Infamous managed to push out a surprisingly great sequel.
Miss Hit & Run. :(

They recently found huge success with Skylanders, but that's true seeing as that's exactly what happened with EA this gen.
Of course that is sad, but I can't remember ever playing one of their games?
Anyway, if they had been willing to make a COD game maybe they would still be around.

I thought Prototype 2 was superior to Prototype one in practically every way. They refined the controls, the sub mission structure, made the game a bit easier so you actually felt powerful, improved the graphics etc. Sure it wasn't a huge leap like some franchises, but it was still noticeably improved.lol did you look at Activision (gamings leading publisher or so they would like everyone to think) recent repetoire?
From wiki:
That is some list lol, and Destiny is 2013... What a trainwreck.
