Whatever makes you sleep at night ;). Meanwhile I will be playing my favorite FPS on my PC for....free :P.
what? How many movie theaters let you watch movies for no charge?[QUOTE="NeedForDog"][QUOTE="Chutebox"]
How many movie theaters let you watch movies for no charge?
Chutebox
Point it Xbox is the only ones who charge for online. You can get online for free with Ps3, Wii, and PC. If there were other movie theaters who didn't charge for movies, I promise you everyone would go there.
Well that doesn't seem to be the case since there more players on live playing games than psn. Remember that you get what you pay for[QUOTE="Chutebox"]How many movie theaters let you watch movies for no charge?[QUOTE="NeedForDog"] what?bigboss5ak

But this guys "logic" is humorous. And I don't pay any money for online on other systems, and the games play just the same as 360 games online.i could buy a pint for a month of xbl...or heck xbl is cheaper than some of my night outs (spent £45 last night nuff said).
Would i buy it no.
My cousin ditched Reach after COD BO came out And he bought BO for ps3, no more online feesyugioh3ds
OUCH...dont say that it makes paying cumstomers angry...you wont like them when they are angry..;)
People still play reach? thought everyone moved to Black Ops :P. wonder how many people play reach right now and nah not worth it still imo

lol unless your cousin bought live by the month (which is even more money), MS already got their year pay.
[QUOTE="lazerface216"][QUOTE="J-WOW"] then the 360 isnt the system for youJ-WOW
so true.
yeah man I totally agree :Pnot a halo guy myself.

No his subscribtion ended in November thankfully
When you break it down monthly and daily, it isn't a lot of money. But when you have to shell out that $50 or $60 for a yearly sub, you kinda say damn, I could have used that money for something else, like a shiny new game.

Have fun lagging and getting 1 match every 10 minutes. And talking with other friends on party chat. Oh wait....Over 5 years my brother has paid around £180 for X-box live.
I paid £250 for a PS3.....Should this generation last to 2013 (It's generaly thought it will be 2012/13) he will have paid more for Live than I did for an entire console.
Don't get me wrong I think the X-box is a fine console I just feel the PS3 hasmore with it out of the box. I'm also not a big Online Multiplayer gamer (much prefer RPG'S, and single player based games) and probably wouldn't get live even if the X-box was my primary gaming consoles (Except for perhaps monthly periods when something tickles my fancy).
[QUOTE="toast_burner"][QUOTE="NeedForDog"]Xbox live isn't a lot of money. I Bought 4 years when it was on sale at amazon.com for 45$ each. Now im set till microsoft releases another boxNeedForDogI payed 0$ for my PS3, PC and Wii online. How can you say its not expensive? Psn plus is 40$ and STILL doesn't have cross game chat LOL. And dont even mention the wii And pc online COSTS MONEY. The internet service is 50$ a monthPSN plus is a online rental service, it shouldnt be compared to Xbox live gold.
You cant just pretend it doesnt exist. the Wii has online and its free.
http://store.steampowered.com/ seems free to me.
So Xbl costs $45 plus an extra $50 a month
Your getting more than just a fee with xbox live. You get -The superior version of black ops ( voice chat, more players online) -Superior version of metal gear solid rising (Online mode has more players - See its 60$ but you get a superior experience. Money is just money Experience lasts a lifetime. You can't have money for ever. But you can recall memories whenever you want is money, which disappears, really more valuable over nostalgic memories?Over 5 years my brother has paid around £180 for X-box live.

You dont count the cost of internet. Because internet is a seperate thing. You can use internet for research and stuff. Its a must have. You have voice chat on the PS3 version aswell, you're confusing cross game chat with voice chat.
As for the numbers online....I doubt I would have a problem finding a game online after it had sales like that on Ps3 it's not like it's a backwater game no-one is playing. I would also say since im in the EU it would actually be easier considering the timesI log on would have few Americans to boost numbers and the connection lag would be less noticable. (But then again as I said.....I don't like online games.)
Edit: MAG has 256 online players acording to your more players logic it's the greatest game ever made.
Lets break it up Im using 50$ because thats the standard amazon price. Comparison Chart. Movie ticket- 6$ a person An average of 2 movies a month= 12$ Or any other entertainment. Cable for example. will run you on an average about 30$ a month Xbox live= 4.2$ a month Now for the halo reach examples A movie lasts on average about 1 hour and 30 minutes. for 6$ Thats about 1$ for each 15 minutes. Cable- 30$ If you watch on average 2 hours of television a day. Thats 60 hours a month on an average of about 2$ a day. Since xbox live is roughly about 4$ a month Thats a 1$ a week If you play halo reach for 2 hours a day. Thats 2 cents a day. We all love fast food. But to be frank. Most of us DONT need to eat it. Most of us have food at home and are just too lazy to cook it. Taco bell or any other fast food joint. Lets say 10$ a week. If you go twice a week. Thats 5$ per visit. Thats 20$ a month. 5 times the amount of xbox live. For something that can be received at home for less. Something that is only enjoyable for 5 minutes. If your just playing halo reach. Thats only 2 cents to play something that provides the same entertainment that we humans do everyday and don't give much thought to.NeedForDog
Your math is wrong. Because Xbox Live is not a pay-as-you-play service, it doesn't matter if you play 2 seconds a day or two hours; it will not be $0.02 a day. It would be 20 cents per day.
And if you go to Taco Bell or whatever twice a week for $10, $5 per visit, this does not mean that it would equal $20 a month. It would be $40 a month because you are going 8 times (2visits x $5 x 4 weeks = 40). Not only that the math is wrong, but I don't care if the service is $0.02 a day (even though it's not), I would not buy it because the service is free everywhere else.
Because pc runs on internet. A pc without it is almost useless. While an xbox can survive without internet very well.NeedForDogThis is probably the worst argument I have seen posted here.
So your saying XBL is cheaper then PC online because to use online on the PC you need to have internet access? but you also need to have internet to play xbl, but that doesnt matter as you may not want to play online anyway?
Jesus People are such cheap @$$'s now and days... Just pay the 60$ suck it up and put it behind you. I like to pretend that the 60$ was never there to begin with. Or that microsoft needed 60$ more dollars to build a bridge or something in africa. And i made that possible.NeedForDog
Sorry, I was just readin through the thread and came across this. Oh my, lol! I don't know what to say to this, but if people looked at me by the millions per day and thought, "He looks like he could use $60 more to build a bridge in Africa, then I'll just forget my $60 was there and just cough it up to him," then I'd be a lucky man! First of all, I wouldn't build bridges--I'd probably spend it on luxury or paying bills, either way, for my own liking.
