Admit it people, this gaming gen is awful.

All three companies have lost their mind. Last gen we got enjoyable games for reasonable prices and great graphics for that era.

Now this one. We get $400+ gaming machines and an oddball with GC graphics claiming to appeal to non-gamers.

Xbox 360- Nothing new from last gen. You can play your PS2, GC, or Xbox 1 and have a far more enjoyable time than playing cookie cutter games on the 360. I mean where is the next gen feel? Every game that plays on the 360 plays exactly the same on a last gen console. Only difference is that the graphics are shinier but eventually your eyes tire of them. Not to mention franchises such as Fight Night, NBA Street, Def Jam, and many are just worse than the previous gen games. Not to mention the faulty hardware that breaks on you after paying $400+. I dont care about some warranty because I play consoles for longer than 3 years and still collect games for it. So it is guarnteed that after 3 years, your 360 will break and MS will be coming up with a new console. Pathetic.

PS3- Unbelivably high price with no games worth playing, losing exclusives, Blu Ray is shoved down your throat. Too much unneccesary stuff not needed for your gaming experience. May have a bright future or crumble in shambles.

Wii- Suckage to the max. Last gen graphics. The controller has not really shocked the world like with the 64 analog stick. Utterly pointless. Nintendo is giving up their true fanbase for people who play Internet Checkers and Mind Puzzle games on their computers. Same old tired franchises. Kart, Mario, Metroid, Zelda, etc. Nothing new.

Face it, gaming is going in a downhill. With unreasonably high prices and consoles that break down after paying hard earned cash, people dont like being scammed.The software and hardware sales may last for a while but in the long run, it will be worthless. The previous gens were a lot better as you got quality gaming for perfect prices.

If anyone brings up Gears of War, then I have to say Gears of War is nothing new. It just borrowed ideas from a game called Everything or Nothing and RE4 and mashed them together. Nothing new or spectular especially when your eyes become used to the graphics and it is not WOW! Anymore.

Halo 3 is gonna play just like its older versions, nothing new. Nothing to signify a next gen feel.

Assasian's Creed? Oh come on, that game looks disappointing.

This generation has been a little slow, but starting onwards from the end of this year we'll have some of the greatest games in existence spread out across the PS3, DS, Xbox 360, Wii, PC and PSP.

As soon as PS2, Xbox and the GC launched they had the games to prove their hardware specs, new control schemes, and they just had games that were enjoyable and long. Not 6 hour games with cool graphics. Games are too short this gen.

First time I played Rouge Squadron, I was blown away. This gen has not done that yet. Everything looks same old.

Gears of War is too short, so to me it is utterly pointless for me to go out and buy a 360 and the game. Oh the 360 tears up so whats the point?

Nothing impressive. Mario Galaxy looks like the same old Mario we played a thousand times already. It is just Mario 64 combined with Sunshine but all the planents are balls.

PS3? Where are the games?

This gen has been fantastic!

From epic gun battles on the streets of Mexico City in G.R.A.W. to plowing over hundreds of zombies in Dead Rising, to landing a chainsaw kill in Gears of War, to playing top of the line RTS games like Command & Conquer 3 in higher resolution (than my PC at least).

Not to mention games like NG: Sigma, Wii Sports (just for fun-factor alone), and a boatload of other fantastic games. It's a great time to be a gamer

Must be non 360 owners b/c by far, this has been the best of times for gaming I have ever witnessed and I started gaming in the late 70's lol !

Going forward, the line up of games and the ability of ( 2 of the 3 )currant gen consoles have taken gaming to no hieghts offering sweet DL and online gaming on consoles like never before.

Couple of the biggest companies in the world have put so many $$$ into the VG ind. and someone thinks this gen is awful ?

I agree with your first post up to a certain extent. But here's what bugs me:

"Gears of War is nothing new. It just borrowed ideas"- Ok...I personally don't like Gears but EVERY game isn't going to be innovative and new and certainly doesn't have to be to be concidered next-gen.

"Halo 3 is gonna play just like its older versions" - Alrighty, because you've played the full version. The beta was a lick of what the full game has to offer and you'd know this if you did any reading on it. Besides that, can't a game just be FUN?

What? What games were of good quality? The launch titles, which we are seeing with the Next Gen Consoles, or the games way after the launch of these consoles? God of War? Wasnt that a great game that came at the ENDING of the PS2 generation? It's too early to tell man, anything can happen from here. Until you have all the games of the Next Gen Systems, until the Next Gen after the PS3, X360, and Wii begin to surface, THEN I'll answer the answer you want. Because by then, you'll be able to step back and look at the whole picture. Your only looking at the first chapter of a book and judging it from there.

I have a lot to look forward to this fall for gaming, unfortunately it wont be doing much of that till december after this next semester is over :( but this gen definately is going to be good. its just that most of the really popular franchises are not out yet.

There is a lot im looking forward to; Blue Dragon, Halo 3, Smash Bros. Brawl, GTA 4, Two Worlds, Turok, and Geomety Wars for Wii just to name a few.

As a 360 owner, I think this gen is great so far.Sooshy
