[QUOTE="DarthaPerkinjan"] Reactions from everyday gamers:
"Any updates? They had this in our game room at work and all I could think of was *drumroll*Halo 2.5. Just updated graphics with the same **** textures. Granted this was MP, and a map from Halo 2, but damn! I'll NEVER understand why people go so gah-gah over annoying ass Halo MP.
I'm sure the single player though will be awesome. 4-person online co-op? fuhget about it"
"i think the textures look good, especially water..and explosions are a lot better. The characters arent as good as they probably should, but it does generally look like halo 2.5. "

This seems to be the general response to Halo 3. Most seem to think it's just Halo 2.5 in terms of graphics and gameplay.

Thanks Renegade. I didn't read the IGN review, but after reading what that gamespot guy had to say about the review, its quite obvious the reviewer overrated the game because either A. He is a Halo/360 fanboy or B. He's scoring the game to match the hype. No big time game review site wants to score Halo 3 low than 9 because of the backlash that would ensue
Even I could see that Gran Turismo 4 was just Gran Turismo 3 with extra cars and tracks and a couple of extra modes. That's why they scored it lower than Gran Turismo 3. Rehashing an old game with just a few new extras does not equal a great score.
Be honest, and think for a second, what would happen if IGN scored Halo a 9.0? There would be tremendous backlash and hate. Instead, it's much easier to wide the hype wave and score the game high and get everybody excited. It's all about the hype, and it affected the game sites. Sad, because I would hope gaming sites wouldn't let hype affect their score like how movie reviewers dont let hype alter their score.
