Okay, here's an Asteroid Impact mod on Crysis just for you.

Let's face it. The graphics are dated. But, I still like to play it at least once or twice a year. Damn Windows 10 won't let me play the Securom version of Crysis. But, Warhead plays just fine.

There are quite a few games out now that are more impressive looking than Crysis, but there are also plenty of games that look worse. If Crysis was released today, with a few minor improvements it would still be praised for it's graphics, especially if it was a console game.

I'm still mad that they buried Crysis Wars. It had potential to be the greatest multiplayer shooter ever when done properly, but they went down the cheap COD-road. GODDAMMIT, CRYTEK!

Yes, the old Crysis Wars is still there, but it's way too buggy and unbalanced to enjoy to the fullest. It was a very potential Battlefield killer.

You must be on drugs to believe Crysis looks good for today standards. Old console games like KZ SF destroys Crysis on any setting.

If they update Crysis with a more modern ambient occlusion it would make all the difference to the game!!

That's arguably the most outdated part of its graphics, although it was one of the first games to try and fully implement SSAO.

PC gamers are the one to blame.

This made me feel old.

When Crysis got released, about 1% of PCs at that time could run the game properly. So I'll take better optimization over massive graphical advancements anytime.

Game is 8 years old now. Doesn't have many of the bells and whistles we have now but it still looks great.

I don't think Consoles should be blamed for everything. Sure, there were times when PC games were dumbed down or downgraded like Deus Ex 2, Crysis 2, Unreal Tournament 3 etc, but technology didn't progress much because there was no reason to do that.

A shitty Call of Duty sells best on Consoles every year, and since we've lost a lot of great devs and publishers last gen, only few big publishers are left and all of them rely on yearly rehashes. That said, I think Crysis still looks really impressive.

I am not so sure about it being "the most impressive" game right now, but it's one helluva shooter that I still play from time to time. A lot of things that Crysis did back then are still not a standard in modern FPS games for some reason. I mean you can't even break a chair in COD, even with a nuclear bomb. That's how terrible modern military shooters are.

Then you have Ass Greed and Fifa. Normally you'd expect a multi billion company to make something that no one have seen before but what you get is another cookie cutter shooter and some generic sports game every year. Thanks to Steam and digital distribution's popularity, we've seen return on Mid-tier devs (at least on PC), that are doing interesting stuff even with limited resources and pushing the games forward.

the 8800 GTS run in playable... for those graphics in 2007, that was a fantastic achievement. meanwhile ,console games still struggle to look better than a 2007 engine/game.

Let's be real though, the only reason anyone ever hyped this generic turd of a video game was because it used to be PC exclusive. Guess now that everyone knows that Star Citizen is getting cancelled, Hermits are trying to bring this last gen trash back from the dead lol!
