After all, who liked Devil May Cry 4 ?

I made this topic because some people bashed the game, others said that they loved it, and so on, so on.

In a personal note, I have to say that I really enjoyed the game, One of my best games. I even have to say that I didnt thought at all that the game was repetetive.The best part is when you switch to Dante. Damn it, I was just addicted to do the Dance Macabre... I loved that combo!!!

But, what do you think?

Good points: the combat is great, bosses are cool, levels are pretty varied, nice graphics and cut scenes

bad points: back tracking to much, repetition later on with Dantes levels and the same boss fights over and over again... achievements are very hard to get.

But I liked it a lot, would give it 8.5

HOnestly? I've always felt the DMC was heavily over rated and only hyped by casual gamers who are more concerned with how "cool" Dante is supposed to be than the games themselves. I haven't cared about DMC at all since the very first game.

Yet I found myself sucked in to DMC4 and couldn't put it down until I beat it. And I found I enjoyed Dantes "coolness" in spite of myself.

The game had some issues. Repeating everything was annoying and pretty much pointless, and I felt that about halfway through the game you are pretty much invinceable which made the second half easier than the first. But even though I came in with low expectations and wanting to not like the game, I honestly give it a thumbs up. I am now looking forward to the next game in the series.

I think that says a lot.

Bad Camara Angles are a game breaking issue for me. It stopped me from enjoying Nija Gaiden and it stopped me from caring about this.

Not really. MGS angles suited stealth gameplay really well. You could argue Splinter Cell had better control over the camara, but the point of view was pretty limited compared to MGS set camara angles.

In an action game where you're moving about a lot a fast moving camara IMO. My grape with Ninja Gaiden and DMC4 is that enemies can hop from one static screen to another, making it more difficult than it should be to kill an enemy. I understand Ninja Gaiden is supposed to be difficult, but it should be difficult because of the enimies not because of appaling camara placements.

i also thought the story was way too anime oriented which is good or bad depending on tastes

but i mostly agree with the reviews this game has gotten

Some of you are complaining about the game being repetetive. I dont think it is. When you switch to Dante, your gameplay changes completely. You dont have the devil bringer, and you now have four different styles to choose from.

Actually, I had ENORMOUS( i think that that is how it is spelled ) fun fighting all the bosses. They were so fun I could even fight them 10 times if I had to.

But, what really bothers me is that I heard some people saying that dmc4 was even more repetetive than ac. Come one, ac was on of the more repetetive games ever! I own it, and its a good game, but the repetition was just awfull.I even didnt finish it.

The only problem I can see about dmc4 is that it hasnt changed much since dmc3. And Im only saying this cuz almost all people agree on this matter, being the fact that i didnt play dmc3(despite all my desire to). But even with that, the game is really good. To me, its best game, right there with r:fom
