After Lost Odessey, do you think Mistwalker will stay exclusive the 360?

i am going to guess no. i think they will end up making games for the Wii and PS3 (even though atm he hates sony, but might be just PR for trying to convince ppl from japan to buy a 360 /shrug) .

reason why i feel this is, depending on US alone to buy their games is not going to be enough. Imagine how many ppl from japan that love his work, but will not buy the 360. but if he made a game for the Wii or PS3 his games will most likely be sold out. Personally i do not feel Sakaguchi is dumb enough to say exclusive, epsciaally when japan his is most valuable fans to have. also i feel sales for blue dragon in the US will not be great IMO and LO might follow the same route. if sales are poor here in the US, then i would say MIstwalker will go multi plat next game.

so what are your thoughts?

hmm lets see, what other jrpgs sale a million + other than square games, mistwalker isnt exclusive there making a ds game.

BLue Dragon sold 300,000 as sstated by sakaguchi, it enetered number 9 in europe the same week as bioshock, i think itll do about 200,000 in america, as long as microsoft keeps funding , mistwalker isnt going anywere, just like level 5 gets funded by sony.

i think mistwalker is in the wrong platform. the 360 audience don't play RPGs that much. It's mostly a sports/fps based audience.

From his standpoint I would personally stay exclusive to Xbox 360 for the challenge. He has already created high selling games on a well sold system, On the Xbox 360 it gives him a challenge as he tries to become as big on 360 as he was on PS consoles. Of course theres the money factor but as long as MS keeps funding him hes got no worries there and can continue his work.

He might stay exclusive sorta like that guy from Tecmo. Also if people want to buy his games they just have to buy a X360 problem solved.

Have fun waiting a year or longer, bud. I'll enjoy Blue Dragon and Eternal Sonata now, then I'll enjoy FFXIII and WKS next year. I'm so glad I don't just own one console. :D

um.. i dont know why most people dont know this but mistwalker isn't really a dev studio(i think it has 15 permanent employees), even in blue dragon it doesn't say made by Mistwalker it says produced by mistwalker(in fact, mistwalker is not even on the front of the game, you have to look for them on the back of the game). They are basically the brains behind the games, artoon and Microsoft game studios basically handle all the actual programing and stuff.

Besides i really dont think mistwalker cares, they were hired by microsoft to do one thing, make japan games to sell 360's blue dragon sold 200k copies in japan which is like 60% of the xbox players their so thats pretty impressive for their first game Lost Odyssey might help more.

Yup, Mistwalker outsources all development. Artoon did Blue Dragon and Feel Plus is doing Lost Odyssey.

more than the quality of the game, i think sales are going to drive mistwalker's decisions. apparently BD sold well in japan (for a 360 game) and did decent sales in europe. if it sells around 200K in north america, maybe a couple thousand in australia, i think they would probably consider it a business success.

hopefully, though, LO will be a better game, because if all their games start getting reviewed poorly, that's eventually gonna affect sales, and then mistwalker will probably be forced to start developing for PS3 and Wii in order to stay alive.
