After one year, Gears is still the best looking console game.

it was a very pretty game, but to me i think cod4 looks the best, the lighting is unbelieveable, particle effects, **** blowing up around you, its chaos, anyone who thinks cod4 looks bad, needs to get there eyes checkedSmyttyGuy94

CoD4 looks amazing no doubt, but boot up Gears of War again and you cannot deny that it looks better.

It amazes me how not only is this the best looking game out now, but that it simply blows everything else away despite being over a year old. Honestly I don't see any game coming out soon that will dethrone Gears of War. UT3 might, but then again it does use the same engine.jbz7890

Graphics are such an interesting arguement.

Because we have two types of approaches, art style and technical. Technical is technical, how can anybody argue over technicality? If a game technically looks better, it technically looks better. End of story. There can't be any arguement there.

Art style on the other hand is a totally different approach. Art style can make you compare Gears of War to CoD 4, it can make you compare Gears of War to Assassin's creed, HELL it can make you compare Gears of War to Super Mario Galaxy.

So what are we arguing here?

there was a huge vote on which was better and it's already been decided by the majority Uncharted is the new graphics king, it's better looking that gears just like game trailers said it's easily the best looking console game out right now.

I might be biased because I havent played CoD4 yet but yeah it trips me out how good Gears still looks. I was playing it yesterday after not having played it in months and I was kinda awestruck.

Uncharted doesn't look better...The models aren't good and even the textures in Halo 3 look better than Uncharted's

Uncharted is the most overated game graphically...It looks great but not as much as Gears Of War

well to me cod4 looks better, in gears the environments are the same, black,brown,gray textures. its all the same. they did a great job at making it look good, but some variety would have been niceSmyttyGuy94
