After Playing Ratchet and Clank Demo.. It will get 9.0 here with flying colors!

I was doubting Ratchet and Clank a lot since sony hasnt had any luck with games lately aside from Warhawk. Im a owner of both the PS3 and 360 and would consider myself a hardcore 360 fan, Well I actually was one of the lucky ones that got the Ratchet demo at Gamestop the other day and lets say that i was very impressed and honestly think it will be Sony's first true AAA title and system seller. Ive played the demo through about 5 times already and still cant get enough. The Groveton Disco ball is highly addicting and very entertaining (the weapon that makes the enemies dance) aside from that, the graphics are goregous, acting is superb as always, gameplay is a blast and frame rate and controls are silky smooth. This game will get 9.0 here with flying colors!

A lot of people are worried that this game will just be another rehash and not bring anything new to the table. Well let me make you feel better by saying this game feels totally fresh from the other ratchet series. There is even one part of the demo that you have to use the Tilt axis controls and believe it or not it feels very smooth and precise, and thats saying a lot coming from me because I actually HATED the tilt axis controls with a passion, but yea this game feels totally fresh

Great games =|= system sellers. Now this isn't to say that great games don't sell very well(GTA, GoW). But being great does not mean it will automaticaly sell a ton. R&C usually sell a million or two, and this one seems no different.

I never hype games so I'm not going to get into what score the game might get, but after playing the demo, I believe that this is the first game on the PS3 that could legitimately be considered a "system seller".ColoradoKindBud

There are few true system sellers. Ratchet and Clank is not a system seller. System sellers are games that cannot be lost or all hope is lost. Its why there was so much hype behind MGS4 to 360, it would've hurt the PS3 crucially. Casuals love it, sure you might say "its not even the best stealth game" but system sellers usually aren't the best in its genre anyway.

A game like Ratchet and Clank could go multiplat, and it wouldn't have nearly the same effect as Halo, Gears, FF, MGS, GT5, Mario or Zelda appeared on another console.

I played the demo on Friday and it didn't seem radically different than previous R&C games (except for DL, because DL was terrible). The game is absolutely gorgeous though.

I don't own a PS3, but this game might make me think of getting it. When does it come out? And when does Jak 4 come out, I haven't had a new Jak game since Jak 3 (comba racing is gay and I still don't have a PSP for Daxter)peter1191

Naughty Dog is finished with the J&D franchise, they are moving on to more mature games like Uncharted which looks like AAA stuff.

Anyway I'm looking forward to R&C and it's 40 hours of gameplay.

What you said is exactly why it isn't a system seller...you had to play a demo to like it.

You can get the demo from your local Gamestop.

Only the first Ratchet and Clank game got AAA. The rest have been AA, even if they've gotten better. Removing features won't help the score, either.

After playing Metroid Prime 3, I found myself wondering how it could possibly have gotten less than a AAA score from anywhere. The point is, you can't say a game will get a certain score from your impressions. You can't say a game will get any score period. After playing Bioshock, I was outraged it didn't get 9.5. Even though the reasons it was docked from such a score are very, very questionable, it still proves my point. No game is guaranteed any score.

i dont know if it has the appeal to the masses in order to be a system seller, but it deserves to be nevertheless.xboxrox11
