I just read the review, its more like ign don't know how to review games than anything. He judged the game on the lack of unlockables and variety outside of the core fighting as if its something thats mandatory to the game. I mean come on, the reviewer obviously doesn't know the expectations of fighting games these days, and only went by his own blind standards, and made a big deal out of it.

I would like to know where you're getting this from, surely not here.

Kinda dont agree. Fighters like ssf and blazeblue have other modes then just arcade, train and online. So yea MVC3 doesint meet the expectations of what a fighter should have it seems. Also I hear you cant watch a match while waiting for your turn which is just plain dumb. Hell even MVC2 had this.
.... i don't understand why people complain about scores, even if it had got a 9.0 its still going to be the same game that it is now, just play it because you want too or rent it to see if your interested or look at game play vids, don't let one guy decide what YOUR going to like

Agreed. People these days, especially System Warriors, act as though if a game isn't a 9.0 or higher that it automatically sucks...

Well, you should cancel due to the lack of overall content in the game, but hey, what do I know.
And I know someone's going to tell me "BUT IT HAS OVER 30 CHARACTERS, NEON!" I know. I know. It's still lacking in content and it's almost criminal that Capcom are holding so much of it back for DLC.
And with that, I am going to wait patiently for Arcana Heart 3. 8)

Yeah its true the game is a bit lacking in terms of content. I mean things like a Time Attack mode or a Survivor mode would have been nice and frankly should be there honestly but I still plan on picking up the game and having a great time with it. I will just probably be pissed when Capcom comes out with a MvC3 gold edition or whatever next year with 10+ new characters plus all those other game modes all for only $40 lol. I'm sure they gonna do it too but I can't be bothered to wait.
A gaming scoring something on a review website should not affect your personal enjoyment with the game.tagyhag
You would have us all beguiled! Lies... all LIES!!
But seriously TC, I haven't read the review yet, that said, did you read anything at all in the review that could hinder your enjoyment of the game? If that was the case I could see where you're coming from, now worrying if the game gets bellow a 9.0 in this site is a bit besides the point.

I would like to see a tournament bracket and REAL rankings such as what they are doing with Starcraft 2's ladder.whats so bad about an 8.5? Its a fighting game. thats all there is to it. Its not meant to be finished in one sitting. SOme standards are just way too high. People, this is what gaming journalism has done to us. Break away from the mold before it engulfs you. :(

IGN also scored MW2 higher then they scored BC2. GS scored BC2 same as they scored MW2, it depends on WHICH guy is reviewing. I believe everyone will agree that BC2 is overall much better then MW2about Mortal Kombat.. 8.5 is a great score, but Gamespot has been comin under IGN's reviews a bit lately.. i mean 8.5 at IGN may mean a 8.0 or so here.. and MvC i was hypin alot higher.. kinda thinkin MK will hit the 7's... thoughts?

Who's complaining... maybe read..8.5 is a great score, stop complaining and acting like its the worst score in the world
WildDangles92
Yeah, i would get worried too, specially since MK9 looks like every other Mortal Kombat, which is average at the very best.
you can't review fighting games, even if you were given a whole week to play them. they are always evolving, people figure out new combos, moves, techniques, and strategies that aren't readily available. look at mvc2, it initially looked like a button masher, yet after 10 years it has become one of the best fighting games (albiet unbalanced). the same goes for all the kof, sf, and mk games. look at cvs2, it wasnt amazing at first, but when the roll was discovered the game totally opened up into a phenomenal fighting game.
