Alienware is most likely a very good brand for people who lacks the skills and knowledge to build their own gaming rigs.

For people who do posses the skill and knowledge to build their own gaming rigs Alienware is just a pre-made expensive pc, that they could most likely have build themselves for half the price.

Alienware is not for the Elite, it is just for the people who does not know any better but is willing to pay to get the best.

most Alienwares I've seen are very ugly. hopefully they've modernized and streamlined their appearance or plan to in the future but the price vs performance is still ridiculous. for a 1\3 of the price build your own that has a much nicer case, of your choice, and much better cooling. seems they're for lazy people with too much money to waste or bandwagoners that just fall for hype.

Elite PC gamers don't buy anything pre-built. Not to mention that 30% of the cost of Alienware hardware goes to the cost of the Alien logo, which also means for the same price, you're getting something 30% weaker than you would otherwise, if you chose your own parts.

Choosing components and building a PC exactly how you want it is more fun than 99% of games these days, so why would I deny myself that by purchasing some overpriced pre-built PC?

all there desktops are LGA 2011 based, and start at like 1400 dollars. The closest would be an x51 with a 4770, 760ti and would be $1600+ once you add in the SSD
