After seeing that I might consider buying one of these but how is that GTX 560 gonna work with such a small wattage PSU? Is it some specific one for their systems?

What PSU is used and what is the wattage and amperage (for the 12v rail)?

I have no idea, either the GPU he bought was low consuming or he added an aftermarket PSU

It looks fairly low quality (200-300+ watt PSU for the initial builds). I'd assume it's aftermarket.
Could be wrong though, but I doubt the PSU has enough power for the system and enough amps on the 12v rail to support a 560.

Well you only need a 350w to handle a 2500k and GTX 560 Ti. Not sure how much power it'd be when at max load though.

It's similar to Mini-ITX with PEG slot extension card i.e.
Mini-ITX motherboard----- GPU
My Silverstone SG07 has the following layout.

It's similar to older Silverstone Mini-ITX cases with 350 watts power supply.what is it? oh, alienware? i'm not going to bother looking at it but whatever it is or does i can build it for half what they want.
::clears throat:: 'an' in your title it should be 'an'.
Also 'an' upgradeable console is a terrible idea and buying a computer just for it's tiny case seems a bit silly too. Are you really going to be traveling around with a small pc that often? Is a laptop not sufficient power for their portability?
I can have the computer in my backpack. So yeah I would be traveling around with it a lot.::clears throat:: 'an' in your title it should be 'an'.

Inconsistancy
How is an upgradeable console a bad idea. This gen it would not be possible, but the next gen having an upgrade in ram and a good quad cpu it make sense. Just think if this gen was built to allow upgrades, the consumer could make the transitiion to next gen for under 300 bucks by changing the custom made gpu when companies feel it's time to move on...oh and being a grammar nazi is not a good look.LOL.::clears throat:: 'an' in your title it should be 'an'.

Simple answer: segregation.

Do you want examples of how it is a bad thing? Just look at sega's and nintendo's past mistakes with "upgradability."

There would be no segregation because the gpu could not be upgraded until Sony or microsoft release the new custom built gpu. I'm sure people will try to mod the system but the games would be designed for that specific gpu. It is very possible and no one would be alienated.[QUOTE="lundy86_4"][QUOTE="ceelogic"]How is an upgradeable console a bad idea. The PC faces the same problem, yet addresses it with a low-level API for the differing configurations.
There are developers who are willing to config for differing configurations and those who are not. Heck, the N64 had the same issue with the expanded RAM pack.

Check out the inside of my pc on that link lol plenty of room.
You can get the bent sata cables like this if card hits them in my pc and problem solved, but installed a 560 gtx without having to change cables.

When the ps4 and loop arrive there will be segregation, so I don't see your point. When the time come for this new gpu to be installed it will mark the end of the previous gen. All new game will be designed around the new gpu and no longer support the old. This will allow more people to make the move to the next gen alot faster because the price of the new gpu would be a fraction of the price one would pay for a whole new console. The console would not be treated like a PC the GPU will be custom built and the standard for the system until the next gen arrives in the form of an upgraded GPU. I do remember nintendo doing this with the ram expansion but if you wanted to play the games that utilized it you went out and brought it didn't you. I think it came with DK64.[QUOTE="lundy86_4"][QUOTE="ceelogic"] There would be no segregation because the gpu could not be upgraded until Sony or microsoft release the new custom built gpu. If there is no entirely new system and an upgrade is possible, people will expect the same game for their non-upgraded system (i'm sure people are that dumb :P). If it no longer supports the old, then I see your point. No upgrading means no playing.
So upgrade the existing console but leave the old one with no compatability (in terms of software)?

The color of the game case would change with a big sticker to warn people that the new gpu is required to play it for those people. Plus backwards compatibility would not take a hit because the system will still be the same with the new gpu. This would be a true ten year system.I would consider that a disadvantage. I much prefer to build my own. It is a lot of fun and you know exactly what parts are in it.Is not having to build your own computer the only advantage to owning this?

The Sega cd is a bad example cause it was never given the time to be successful. soon after its release came the saturn and development for the cd add on was never fully taken advantage of. Nintendo's ram expansion came with the game that required it and sold for around 20 bucks. Those that wanted to play the games that required it brought it. I never met anyone who called them self a gamer to not have the expansion pak installed in the 64. See where you miss understand is a console will never be treated as a pc. Developer will develop for the custom gpu and when the upgrade of the next gen is released these games will be built around the new card. Those that refuse to upgrade would be the same as those that would refuse to buy a 720 or ps4, but because you only have to buy a new gpu more people would make the jump to the next gen with out having to wait for the system to drop in price. Why are you guys hating on it? I think this is very clever, if I had loads of money I'd build another decently powerful machine with that in it, it would be very easy to move.
Though is the psu internal? It would be better if it was external.
A Pc isn't a console. Until you can put in a disc and have it start playing the game right then without installing the game first and looking for drivers to install its not going to have mass appeal.

The gaming PC is similar to Taito Type X2/X3 arcade games machine.
It should be fine i.e. it's volume size is similar to Silverstone SG07/SG08 Mini-ITX cases.I wonder low long can you game on it with a GTX 560 before it overheats?
jun_aka_pekto
An upgradable console won't be of any service to the console industry. Dissimilar hardware would bring hardware requirements into the picture again. The moment requirements enter the picture, customers will be put off by not knowing whether their machine can run a game or not. And despite popular denial by hermits, this is actually one of the primary reasons why people opt for consoles instead of PCs.
