[QUOTE="Nin360"] I just used my prp at best buy. If you look at the power box you will see it's wattage has went down to 175w. The standard xbox 360 is 203w. Mine was made just last month. Every single one at best buy had the falcon chip in them. I do not think the standard xbox 360's are being sold anymore. Except for places that have older stockpiles of them.
To check if you have the falcon its simple. Look at the 360 power box and read the wattage. If it's 175w then you have the falcon. The older ones run at 203w and the newer plu's will nto run on the older 360's.

Somebody just recently posted an article about this. The article specifically states that the falcon chip is simply a new microprocessor (cpu) with a new type of heat sink. The GPU (graphics chip) is what causes the RROD and that is still the same. The graphics chip won't be fixed with the new 65nm chipsets until Jasper comes out, which Microsoft says won't happen until August 2008 at the earliest.
In short, all this hype over "falcon" is little more than BS. The new heat sink might potentially reduce the issue of RROD, but consoles still have the same potentially faulty hardware as they always have. They will continue to have potentially faulty hardware for at least another year.
Wrong, the CPU and GPU both were downsized. The cpu was downsized to 65NM and the GPU was downsized to about 80NM. I personally own a 360 with the smaller falcon boards and can tell you that it hardly gets warm. Scroll down the page until you get to the part the shows the changes to the board.
