EGM ---5.5 (6 ,5.5 ,5.0)

PLAY UK --9.0

GAMEZONE --9.0

EDGE ---9.0 (LEAKED . the paparback magazine would be out in a few days)

GAMEPRO --7.5 (praised everything except the controls)

EGM tends to be harsh with reviews, and this can be proven by Blue Dragons score.

Gamepro praised the game but the down fall was only the controls.

Lemmings, no use being hypocritical now. You are using 1 review to make many people assume Lair is a flop :| Might aswell say Blue Dragon flopped to if you wanna use just 1 review.

EDGE is one of the best gaming magazines out there. :?

Gamezone and Edge gave Red Steel good reviews. Sorry I don't trust them one bit.

That's the kind of changes they made. Not major control changes or such. And unless GamePro took issue with the grass in the game, I'd say their review still holds up.

Some of the reviews are not even based of the final build, for all we know, they could be adding the normalcontrols as we talk.

While it isn't the final version, it's a review copy provided by Factor 5 to GamePro. Minor changes have been made since then, but they aren't major enough to change the game as a whole. For example, a developer detailed on his blog one of the biggest changes they made since the review copy was sent out. That change? They made the grass look better.

That's the kind of changes they made. Not major control changes or such. And unless GamePro took issue with the grass in the game, I'd say their review still holds up.

The most important review on that list is Gamepro. Gamepro gives even the most half-assed games 5/5. They gave the Getaway a 5/5 back in the day.

If Gamepro is willing to overlook their automatic 5/5 policy for Lair, then I would be surprised if it got AAA or even AA status here on GS.

No Kidding, the three sites no one has heard of gave it high scores and the two that people have heard of EGM and Gamepro gave it low scores. Hmmm! what does that tell you.

gamespot was one of ten sources to rate it below AAA and gs wasn's even the lowest score.

I'll wait fo the only to sites I trust the reviews : IGN and Gamespot. The others doesn't even interest me.

IGN and GS are the only 2 sites who's reviews i actually pay attention to.

But still, EGM's reviews, that sure sparked a lot of bashing.

The only confirmed reviews are Gamepro and Play. Controls are a big deciding factor in a game's scoring, so if controls are criticized that doesn't bode well. Gamepro is usually quite a generous scorer, as well.

Also, Play Magazine gave Red Steel a good score, so I don't trust their reviews.

We're left with one mediocre score from a generous publication and a good score from a publication that gave a bad game a good score. It's not looking too good, but then again neither are good sources and it's only two reviews.
