Honestly, please explain to me why THAT'S supposed to be the next graphics king because I just don't get it.

Apparently it looks better now because that was an old build...I didn't find the demo to be impressive at all but some recent gameplay videos look much better.Honestly, please explain to me why THAT'S supposed to be the next graphics king because I just don't get it.

Maybe because the demo is the E3 09 build. Educate yourself and watch the GTTV episode.bleehumI've watched lots of videos. Still nothing. Looks about the same as the demo. Stop binging that 'it's in beta' BS because that almost all the time turns out to be what the final product looks like.

Haters gonna hate. We all know it looks good.aaronmullanYeah. there was similiar thread yesterday. There is sticky TC, this thread shoulb be closed.
Everyone knows the demo looked dated but it's going to look better. How much? We will have to wait to see.
Wait till you see the final build.....Honestly, please explain to me why THAT'S supposed to be the next graphics king because I just don't get it.

Hah, why would the supply an old build for a demo that is meant to draw gamers in to purchase the product? Also, do you really think they would just overhaul the graphics in a eyars time and then release a demo of the old engine build?? If anything they've polished off certain scenes, but upgrading the graphics after the games made, very unlikely. The demo is from before last year's E3... not exactly up to date. Regardless, the game's scale is insane. You'll be fighting a boss the size of the Sears Tower at some point in the game.

we all know its looks good,
but i dont see the graphics king hype its geting
maybe its just me, but i find UC2 and ME2 more impressive
while this is just on consoles,
nothing comes close to crysis
Half-Way
I'm playing ME2 on PC with maximum settings and I find the GoW3 gametrailer video to be a lot more impressive. :?

If anything they've polished off certain scenes, but upgrading the graphics after the games made, very unlikely. Remember the demo was first made available months before to people who pre-ordered and what not? What would be the point of giving pre-order customers an early demo if they are going to release a much better demo later on? And beside, I'm sure they have a lot more important things to do than release a new demo, when the old one is just fine. Say what you will, but apparently everyone who has actually played the final game says its the next leap in console graphics so it would seem that the graphics have indeed improved. So I'm willing to go with first hand reports rather than assumptions that no improvements were made. The demo is from before last year's E3... not exactly up to date. wierd, i honestly think ME2 looks awesome, the scale of the game is simply impressive
This demo is dated. Look here GTTV God of War 3 special. Looks 100 times better then the demo. Be sure to watch it in HD. :)
If you still don't think it looks better then I advice you to get your eyes check.
I'm quoting this just so the link will be on this page.I think the graphics are very good, but I agree they aren't super amazing. With those polished up looks however, God Of War III overall looks to be amazing. I got my copy preordered with release day delivery, at this point I'm foaming at the mouth a little.
best thing about GOW games arent the graphics for me the art and level design in the game blows my mind

This demo was created in march 2009 :)The demo build is from June 2009, it looks much different now as pointed out by earlier posts. Go watch the GTTV episode featuring the God of War 3 special.
EVOLV3
The demo got me thinking tho, since in the end Kratos aparantly attacks the titan scaling the temple, so what, now he is trying to wipe out both the gods and the titans?

i didnt actully see that yet
im kinda impressed by lots of the stuff going on there =O
surely looks good now,
and my comment earlier was based on the stuff i had seen before.
PS. is that the same Ha Des as in GoW1? where you can only see his face, when hes giving you one of the powers
Ok to the people calling BS on the improvements (and who obviosuly haven't watched the GTTV video) lets take a quick look at Kratos:
Footage from around the E3 time (Same as demo graphics):
Footage from GTTV Video (New footage):
And for people claiming this game isn't impressive I say "What you talking about Willis!?"
Sorry for the blurriness, but these are still captured from the GTTV video and are in motion, so I can't do anything about the blur. Anyways, the sheer scale of this game is impressive and even more so is how amazing the textures look for both the large things (Titans) and the small things (Kratos, Hades) despite the large difference in scale. This game is VERY ambitious and pulling it off. I can understand if you don't think it's the next graphics king, but to claim that you don't see what the "Fuss is about" means you either gotta get your eyes checked or take off the green tinted MS goggles.

Maybe you read that between the text lines on the monitor or made that assumption incorrectly. What I said was its unlikely for a graphics overhaul from demo to retail. PLS read before posting responses.Agreed. I watched it in SD because my computer would take forever to load that in HD... and I was blown away. This demo is dated. Look here GTTV God of War 3 special. You're a Hemit that'll find a flaw in any PS3 game, your crediblity is 0. I doubt you even have a PS3
So people are taking a video over actually playing the demo? Even if the demo is old, that's a bit of a weak idea. rolo107Considering the clearly visible difference, and assurance from multiple game reviewers and people who own the game and the dev studio themselves that the game has improved from the demo and is quite possibly the most visually impressive game on consoles...I think the smarter thing would be to take the newer videos over the old and out of date demo. And I even recall when the demo was released the devs saying that the demo was old code and they had improved it...this was in back in June 2009...so if they claimed the demo was older code back then, imagine now.
I was impressed by the demo. It came out one year ahead of time and looked that good (while also being playable.)
People were coming on saying "I wasn't impressed by the demo", and I'm thinking wtf? This is a beta build and it looks decent.

there were rumors that gow3 was finished from beginning to end (alpha) last year around spring
the guy you quoted probably thinks santa monica finished gow3 around that time and just left it there to sit over the next 9 months

i was refering to his looks,
i checked it out on youtube
and in GoW1 he dosent have the mask on
and apperently there is a statue of him in the underworld which i dont remember, might be the big one with the lava puzzle.
but he dose look the same as he did in GoW2
