I just find it hilarious how it wasn't such a big deal (old, crappy, was good in 2003 but crap today etc) when Sigma came out, but now it's the saviour of gaming, and all that has been released for it is what, 6 screenshots? WHOA A DECAPITATION, BEST GAME EVER! GET THE GOTY AWARDS OUT, IT'S OVER! SEE THAT ARM FLYING? GAMEPLAY! NOW THAT WE'VE SEEN SCREENS OF NG2, I WONDER WHAT HAPPENS IN NG3? WHEN IS NG4 COMING OUT?

It's insane. NG is a great action series, but not worth all of this hype at all. I guess it's due to the lack of competition on the Xbox in the action/slash em up category. Give the game a real story and some Hollywood production values (voice acting, script, music) and it might be as epic as fanboys want it to be.

If its just a retread of NG with some new weapons and the same tired level design it will be another meh game with a great combat system.

The game drought thing comes up because MS hasn't announced very much for 08. Don't get all defensive, they're just stating facts. Halo 3 and Mass Effect are their big guns, and they are supposed to be out in 07. NG2 is the only big game announced yet for 08. Obviously this will change, but in a world where fanboy jackals will use whatever they can get, it's damaging information.

Cows: You are getting the biggest franchises in gaming come 2008, yet you continue to talk about Killzone. Stop. Gran Turismo is more than 2x as big as Halo is, and yet you ignore it. I could name 10 other games deserving more hype than KZ2, but hey, w/e.

Lemmings: What was so sad about the Xbox was, great games didn't sell like they should have. The only games that sell MS's console is shooters ( it's not a shooter console, but that's what sells). All you had was Halo as a big seller. Now you have GeOW also. Other great games in other genres, tend to sell one million and die off - Forza, Ninja Gaiden, Kotor, Dead or Alive games. While even mediocre shooters like Lost Planet, easily outsell all those games 0_o.

So when trying to claim domination over the PS3's 2008 lineup, please don't talk about how that will doom the PS3 in the market, because while games like Ninja Gaiden 2 will be great, statisitics show that games like Gran Turismo will outsell NG 15:1.

Sad reality, your console isn't directed at a very wide audience 0_o.

I don't see why ps3 owners can't be excited about other games. There aren't alot of big franchises out there, so after mgs, gt:5, and ffxiii, they have to look to other things. I know I'd like to think my expensive console has more than 3 really good games to look forward to. Oh, and I'm pretty sure gt:5 isn't 2x as big as Halo...

I'm not sure why there is even any hype for this game so soon. It's at least 10-12 months away. Why are people even hyping this game and trying to compare it to NG: Sigma? It's just one of many awesome games that will be released in 2008. People should be hyping Lost Odyssey, UT3, GTA IV, Splinter Cell Conviction, Halo Wars, Huxley, Fallout 3 and all the other incredible titles that will be on the XBox 360 next year.

Games like GTA sold as many copies as GT. I'm not sure how GT5 is going to outsell anything if there are only 5 million PS3 in retail homes. Your assuming that every PS3 owner will buy GT5?. I doubt that will happen. XBox 360 will have at least 12-13 million console sold by the time GT5 is released and Halo 3 will still be selling copies. I'm pretty certain that Halo 3 will easily break the 5 million sold mark. I don't think anyone is expecting NG2 to sell 3-4 million copies. It didn't sell that many on the XBox or PS3, so why would you even compare it to GT5? :roll: Compare it to Halo 3, if you want to compare to a system seller game. When GT sold over 14 million copies the PS2 had more then 80 million units in people homes, while the XBox had maybe 20 million. That won't be the case when GT5 is released. So no, I don't expect GT5 to sell another 14 million copies because there won't even be 14 million PS3 sold by the time it's released.

If you think only shooters sold well on the XBox, you need to take another look. It wasn't just shooters that broke a million copies.
