And if you're talking about engines and the such.. Star Wars Force Unleashed uses tons of advanced features for the 360 and PS3. They've now replicated these engines on the Wii to give the same affects on dumbed down hardware.

You realize PS3 and Xbox 360 are very close to the best of what PC can do? It's not the same, PC is slightly higher (IF you pay lots of money on video card and RAM and processor) and PC can do mods. No but the Wii is my fav...But there is a reason I own a 360 and going to buy a PS3 soon no system is perfect. Then again I owned all 4 systems last gen.

There are limits to the graphics that can be done on the Wii. I think what it getting old is the same topic over and over again. Nintendo fans did not buy the Wii because of the graphics we knew what they would be when we got the system. So it pointless to keep attacking the graphics the crap titles are a lot better attack. Wii fans bought it for one of two reasons they think Nintendo makes some of the best titles or because they they like the Wiimote. Or maybe both which is my case, I like the Wiimote better than any other controller.

You can't debate and defend a topic or problem most people have accepted by now. We all know that the Wii cannot do graphics on the level of the 360 and PS3. I can't recall that having been disputed recently, or ever. I don't find it too difficult to believe that many people don't see a point to this thread.

Half-Life 2 came out in 2004. As of last year, you're finally getting to play it on what I'm pretty sure are maximum settings on consoles. Let me reiterate that. The Orange Box on consoles is doing what the PC did three years ago. The PS3 and 360 are not close to the PC. Not by a long shot. And if they are indeed part of the same gang, the PS3 and the 360 are the ones in the gang who don't belong, feel lucky to be included, and worship the gang leader. Yeah, that'd be the PC.

I laugh at you sir. Nvidia is realeasing their 9 series cards soon. Think about that for a second. The 8 series is already pretty much better or as good as the consoles are ever going to get. The consoles cannot keep up with PC's, period. Sure, right now they might be able to accomplish some of the same things, but in a year, the PC is miles ahead of the consoles. I like consoles just as much as the next guy, but, be real about this man.

There are still a lot of games being announced for PS3/Xbox 360/PC like Star Wars Force Unleashed. (there is a Wii version but it's not by the same team) If Xbox 360/PS3 are so far behind, they should've made Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed only for PC. Even if they did, and they ported it over to Xbox 360 later, I bet it would look pretty close.

And for those blowing up 1,000 barrels in Crysis, how much did your rig cost you? This is the part where you try to downplay and cheat the actual sums I bet. Cmon, give it to me plain, how much total for the 8800GT, duo-core processor (or quad-core?) and the RAM? I could show off and say I have the best car in the world, after spending $70,000 on one. The Xbox 360/PS3 are not at the same level of PC, but it's close. Just face the facts.

1 - So a game developed MAINLY on consoles, that doesn't even push 3 year old hardware that hard is something that we go by now? CoD4 is a horrid example. If you have an 8800 card, you can push the rez to REDICLOUS levels and still not ever go below 60 FPS. And by rediculous I mean like 1200p. Compare that to 600p on consoles. And that is for a game that was developed with the consoles as the lead platform. Also, TFU(Force Unleashed) isn't coming to the PC regretably.... LucasArts has decided to piss of hundreds of thousands of loyal fans because they can. Finally, developers don't start making games on the most powerful platform... They make games on the platform that they have the most to gain from... That is why Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed were made on consoles.... not because the consoles are as powerful as the PC...

2 - About $1200 for a good rig with an 8800 GT, Core 2 Duo and 3 GB of RAM. That is assuming you are still going for good hardware elsewhere also(Raptor HDD, Good Mobo, dedicated sound card, new optical drives, new case, new OS).

3 - this thread is pointless. You made it to bash a console with the intent to create a flamewar. I hope you get a nice suspension for it too.

I'd say the diffrence between PC > 360/PS3 is around the same as 360/PS3 > wii. COD4, ME and all those games you mentioned look like the PC version because they have to limit the games graphics to account for the 360/PS3's weak hardware. If Crysis was on 360/PS3 it would look like crap.

PS3 and Xbox 360, like I said before, are not on PCs level especially now with the specs it can have (and 3-4 times the money you have to spend!) but most of you are using Crysis, the one go-to example. That game is so intense even combining two or three 8800Gts couldnt bring it down. So how about stop living in distant potentials (one game) and come back down to reality? Potenitally, theoretically, PS3 is way higher than Xbox 360 (from what I've read). But in reality, 90% of the games between these two systems are going to end up pretty much the same. The point is, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 will continue to share many games. And dont think it's some merciful charity that the PC must share games with PS3 and Xbox 360. I didnt expect such vehement opposition to me grouping these three together. Resolution and framerates will differ, but from a developer point of view, the distance between PC >> PS3/Xbox 360 is far less than PS3/Xbox 360 >> Wii. Once again, puh-lease.

Your nVidia 9 series hasnt come out yet. Are you going to spend another (how much does this cost?) pricey sum (possibly more than the entire Xbox 360 console itself)? I still maintain the Xbox 360 and PS3 are very good packages at a very good price considering its capabilities and not spending $1000+ on a PC rig. The Wii is only $150 less and there is a HUGE gap between the capabilities - that's more of what I have a problem with.
